SAT writing

So, some schools only use the critical reading and math scores together in their middle 50 data, on their website, whatever. Does this mean they discount the writing score altogether? Do they just not look at it at all, or is a high writing score still a good thing? I’m asking because last time I took the SAT, I got an 800 on the writing and I was super proud and happy until I realized a lot of schools claim to not consider the writing score at all. There may not be an answer to this question but it’s worth a try.

That’s a really good score and you should be proud of it. I also got 800 on writing two sittings in a row. Although some schools may still view the SAT on a 1600 scale, a high writing score will still be looked favorably upon and will help you in college admissions.
