Ok so im in the 10th grade and i didn’t even see myself planning to take the SAT in my sophomore year but the reason is because of a dual enrollment program which is a program where you take high school and college classes in college in order to earn college credit. So im just an average student the only way i can get good grades is when i study and if i don’t then I’ll obviously fail.I really want to enter this program i had an option to take ACT but they said that they don’t have any more left something like that so my only option is to take SAT and i can enter the program if i get 970 at least. Sat is on March and this is December im trying to study but how can it study for SAT if i have test at school how do it fit it in there. Also my counselor gave me a SAT McGraw book to study but i heard the blue book is way better anyway I’ve been using Khan academy also im really slow at the reading test section how can it be better and I’ve taken two PSAT my brother says is impossible and im just an average student but is want to try to challenge myself I suck at math slow at reading and don’t even know grammar punctuation quite well . Sorry for the lack of grammar usage im in a rush . Can i also use PSAT book to just learn some lesson for SAT please it would be really cool if anyone could reach out to me help me in this midlife crisis PLEASE
almost everyone gets at least a 970 it’s not too hard and you’ve been studying so that’s even better! just keep studying at what you aren’t strong in and you will do great!
Ok but im going to be taking the ACT because my school is offering it and I don’t know if I should cancel the SAT or just take it
Each section is on a scale of 800. You just need to get a 490 on each section, or do better on one and lower on the other. Let’s say you decided to leave the entire math section blank. If you got a 790 on EBRW, you could still get a 970! (That’s not a good test-taking strategy, though. Don’t do that.) Have you taken an SAT or ACT practice test? You should take a practice test of each. If you do a lot better on one, TAKE THAT ONE. Otherwise, just go with the one you like better.
Your goal is totally achievable if you work for it! Just make sure to pick the test that brings out your strengths, and remember that schoolwork (math especially, but also english) supplements test prep.
Take a couple of practice tests. It is the smartest thing you can do to get a feel for the test and the timing.
