SATI or SATII?

I’m applying to these 3 Unis: Cornell, Chicago and Northwestern.
Which one of them only requires SATI and not II? I did not manage to register for an SATII in time for the application deadline ending 2009 Jan. After looking at the respective websites, I cant really find the sections on whether SATII is required (im from Singapore and have already sat for my A levels so it doesn’t make much sense to sit for yet another subject test).

I think they all require SAT II’s.

yeah, i’m pretty sure they all require two SAT IIs.

exactly my point. they only refer to SATI on their help pages with little or no reference to SATIIs

just take the SAT IIs. these subject tests allow them to make a standardized comparison of you and other applicants and they should be little problem for youh since you took the A levels.

anyway, you still have to take them for the other 2 schools. if in doubt, email them personally.

you can still sign up for the january SATs. the application deadline for the SATs is not even close. most schools would be willing to accept Jan 2009 test scores even if they’re received only in February.

Cornell: Requires different subject tests depending on what college you apply to. Info can be found on the downloadable “Freshman Requirements Grid” (.pdf file)… http://admissions.cornell.edu/forms/FreshmanRequirementsChart.pdf

UChicago: They say “We do not require any SAT Subject Tests.” Look under Point 4, labeled “test scores”.
Northwestern: Point 5 says: "Standardized testing The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT Reasoning Test) or American College Test (ACT) with writing is required of all applicants. Two SAT Subject Test scores are required of all applicants to the Honors Program in Medical Education, and three SAT Subject Test scores are required for the Integrated Science Program. The SAT Subject Test is RECOMMENDED for all other applicants. Higher SAT Subject Test scores tend to offset lower SAT Reasoning Test or ACT results.
