<p>how important are they: i got a 750 Math 1c but a weaker 680 writing 690 Math IIC which is prob below avg for schools like duke and emory. is this true. would 1 1440 sat (780M/660V) make up for it. thanks for ur input.</p>
<p>well teh schools claim that satII’s are just for placement not used int eh admissions process but
thats of course nothing but bs
TIf the school uses an academic index formula
they take an average of ur satii’s and ur sat
then they use it in the formula so i guess in a way
they do average out ur sat score no longer helps you nor hurts you
and ur satii’s the same</p>

<p>I was in the same boat as you for mine. I had 760, 700, 670 (bio), and I was almost positive Duke would defer me (1470 SAT I). I bumped it up this month, but I still don’t know what’s going to happen.</p>
<p>I think your SAT I just might compensate, but I don’t know how the Writing will fare in the process (it’s a requirement for Duke). </p>
<p>So, in short, you’re cool for Emory and, like the majority of other applicants, okay for Duke. </p>
<p>I think your essays/EC’s/recs should be glowing. I’m sure they are.</p>
