What scores do you need on the SAT to be competitive for top schools? (Princeton, Yale, Columbia, etc.)
Also, I do know scores are NOT everything, I just want to know for retaking purposes.
I have a 4.0/4.0 GPA with 7 APs at the end of my junior year, unique extracurriculars, and the typical national awards (AP Scholar, projected National Merit, Service Award, etc)
I am an Asian female and I know I am an overrepresented minority so please keep this in mind!
750+ on each section of the SAT or a 2250+.
That was the range I was assuming. Thank you so much!
I saw that the princeton avg this year was right around 2350. WOW! Goodluck to all
@jennistandton1 Where did you find that stat? I find it very hard to believe.
OP, I agree with the general suggestion of ~750+ each section and 2250+. There is some flexibility though. As a fellow Asian female, I only had 720 in Writing, but I was still admitted to Yale and Penn. My friend (also Asian female) with a 710 in Writing was admitted to UChicago.
@OrchidBloom Thank you! the 2350 really worried me…That’s amazing that you were accepted to both Yale and Penn! Congrats!
No problem…a 2350 would worry me too!
And thanks!
