Saturday to Baltimore??

take into account that there’s many cancellations today across the lower south due to their impending weather

Thumper, I just picked up D and H from BWI last night after a long journey to get them home. The good news for you is that BWI appears to be in good shape now. Most flights are going in and out easily (with a few delays). The pick up area for arrivals was mostly snow and problem free. I had to go back today to pick up the luggage and instrument that didn’t arrive with them. It really looks pretty normal…well…except for the huge mounds of snow all over! As long as you don’t want to go through the mounds, you are good to go. Most of the major roadways seem to be good. Much better in fact than last Monday after the 1st set of snow. I95 and I195 were fine as were the entrance ramps to both. Not sure where you are going after that, but I was able to navigate in some of the hardest hit areas. I wasn’t going down sidestreets I will admit. I stuck to big highways and roads that usually carry a lot of cars. I hope you have a wonderful time!

Thanks Muppetmom…I’m going to Annapolis and Bowie. Hoping for the best…NOW I hope my flight doesn’t originate in DALLAS or Birmingham or any other city that is getting snow today!!

BWI was fine today. No delays in flights from NY, no problem getting in and out. Enjoy!

OK…I’m sitting in the airport and my flight is reported to be one time. BWI is open and so is the airport here.

Happy trails, thumper.

Have fun, Thumper!

Hope you get to a computer soon to tell us if you made it!

Have a great weekend! I hope you get out before the next snow on Tuesday.

I’m here in MD and there really IS a ton of snow. Honestly, there just isn’t anyplace to put it all. Eventually it will melt…I guess.

My flight home is scheduled for Tuesday at 5:20. To be honest…getting here was important…if I get delayed getting home…oh well!!

And I’m having a GREAT time!!

Yayyy – so glad to hear it. It is really hard to describe the amount of snow. There are snow tunnels everywhere, including out my front door. The roads are in good shape near me but pulling out into intersections can be treacherous - no view coming out of the tunnels.

Yes! You do have to see it to believe it. Good Point, catera - drive carefully! Cars don’t have antennas anymore but back in the day we would put a big orange ball or flag on the top of the antenna.
Even up north rarely do they get that much snow at one time. In Northern NE we got lots of snow but we might get 6-12" more often. This allows time for settling and some melting/sublimation to occur. It is much easier if the snow builds up over time.
On the plus side… melting will continue and the snow pack will start to diminish with a few sunny days.
However - more snow is on the way!!! (hopefully only a couple of inches)

thumper - have a wonderful time!
