Things that people should not do on Nextdoor:
- Say how they’re looking for a nice lady friend to spend time with. IT’S NOT A DATING SITE!
- Post a photo of your teenage daughter with all of her 7 teenager friends with everybody wearing animal masks and ask for help finding a local furry group for your teenage daughter.
- Get mad at everyone on Nextdoor who politely does the equivalent of saying “What the heck?”
- Say that it’s just the same as Native Americans who wear animal clothing and head-wear. Um, not the same. When Native Americans do it, it’s usually part of a sacred religious ritual. When your teenager only wants to wear a cat mask whenever they leave the house? Not the same thing. You, however, are ignorant.

Laws should be tougher for animal cruelty. This makes me so sad.

I should have been paying much more attention to the taxes my husband has been filing for the last several years. We would have been better off/not paid tax on some things. Ugh! Some can be corrected, but not all.

I was just reading about a 34 year old’s mental health issues over the past several years. During the pandemic, when he was depressed, he could not secure any mental health services (he was told we are too busy - unless you are trying to kill yourself). I think that the pandemic was emotionally brutal for young adults (college age and new to the work force), during that time. We will be seeing the effect on their mental health for a long time to come.

just because everyone you’ve talked to agrees that i should commit to a certain college doesn’t mean that should affect my decision-making process. these people know nothing about me and don’t necessarily know anything about any of the colleges i’m considering. the opinions of people i’ve never met shouldn’t be used as a “gotcha” and it’s stupid that i’m wasting energy arguing with my own family about a decision that’s supposedly “mine to make” (since we have the finances to pursue any of the options).

Am a little salty about this. Hey SIL, I know you can afford more than a $40 gift for my kid when she graduates next month from high school. But you’re kind of clueless in a lot of areas. When you come next month for the graduation, be prepared to fill up your car with all of your mother’s stuff that you’ve been storing at our house for free for almost 9 months. Anything else you leave here will be put out at the curb at the following bulk trash pick up. Am sick and tired of being a free storage facility for you.

For some strange warped reason, you seem to think that you are the patriarch of the family now because our father no longer is here? Maybe you’ve seen too many old movies based in the circa of the 1700s? Renaissance? No, we don’t “respect” you.
You are not our father and you never will be. EVER! You will never understand the type of person our father was and why we respected him so much.

What an odd comment, neighbor. You said that not allowing fences is unfair to dog owners and is therefore an antiquated rule from the 60’s. Do you think that people didn’t have dogs in the 60’s? Like maybe we kept pet dinosaurs??

MGA Entertainment, did you delete my review of that Little Tikes toy because it mentioned the fact that it’s made in China instead of the US? I reread your rules for reviews and nothing I wrote violates them. Are you trying to hide the fact that more of the Little Tikes product line is made in China these days? I didn’t speculate on the lack of quality control being related to the change in Country of Origin, but simply stated the fact of where it was made. This wasn’t our first problem with a Little Tikes product, but it is our last purchase. It’s a shame because they were such favorites of our kids years ago.
