I just discovered that two of my new friends (we recently moved) also clean their house to ABBA music. I guess I have found my people!
Why do you tail me in the right highway lane when the left lane is totally clear?? Ugh. I’m not going to drive any faster. 7 miles over the speed limit is enough.
So you didn’t enjoy the show. Sometimes what is funny to one person isn’t funny to another. That’s life. But the fact that you didn’t like it doesn’t give you the right to talk through the show. Next time, choose to leave. The rest of the audience will appreciate it.
For heaven’s sake, please either accept the abundant offers of help OR stop complaining about the caregiver workload.
I’ve been in a blue funk since Auntie’s daughter took her life almost 2 weeks ago. Dealing with funeral homes and cremation details back to back is taking its toll. I’m thankful I meditate and do yoga each day, they’re saving me. I think I need a good cry.
Is it bad that my Apple Watch notified me that I hit my activity level today while I was shaking an espresso martini?
Dear sister,
Why did you feel compelled to tell me that SIL doesn’t like me? One, i know. Two, what good comes from that statement? Three, you know that she doesn’t like you either, right? But I refrained from pointing that out to you.
Outstanding!

Early this afternoon I took the subway to Chinatown for my $12 haircut (pay $20 of course). As I emerged to the street, I saw a canopy with NYC Dept. of Transportation employees fitting passers-by with bike helmets. I didn’t have time to stop, but next time I will for sure. Most neighborhoods in the city (not mine yet) have Citibikes including battery-enhanced ones. (The program is now run by Lyft.) For sure it’s something I will consider when they get to my area of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, but only with a helmet! Here’s the Facebook page for the event I saw: Helmet Fitting and Distribution Event
As the spouse of a college professor, I thought this was the appropriate place to vent. Teach your kids accountability. Don’t raise them to think that if they do zero work the teacher is “tanking” their grade and has no right to give them a zero. When the teacher offers them a very fair way to fix their grade (take an incomplete, and finish over the summer for a chance to redeem and get that A), have the decency to respond, maybe even thank them. When a professor goes out of their way to offer help, and sets up time to meet, don’t stand them up. When you come to class unprepared and the entire class time is wasted to get the assigned pre-work done to be able to proceed, and the professor makes a few comments about being unprepared, don’t go to their dean to complain . Please quit being entitled little s***s.
Arggh! Why is every company’s customer service so awful???
Who goes to a funeral and even after the officiant asks everyone to turn sounds off their cell phones, someone or two just doesn’t do it???! Your clown honking sounded great when the military members were doing the flag folding ceremony.

Where do all these stupid people come from?
And why won’t they be charged?
I understand it’s unsafe to confront strangers, but I would have in this case.
They may have just killed two bear cubs to get a photo and it’s disgusting.
Why does everything have to be so difficult?! I got a bill from H’s cancer hospital for $19.07. No big deal, except I notice it’s for the service in December. He met his deductible back in July. It should have been $0. Spent 30 minutes on the phone on hold trying to have them figure it out, and all they came back with is since it was processed this year, it goes on this year’s deductible. I say thanks and hang up before I realize - that’s not right, right? It goes with the date of service? So that is something I’ll have to keep an eye on for his next batch of claims. Argh! Maybe I’ll try to email our rep to see if they can tell me something. If I can find the right email…
Then my cancer & accident insurance will each give me $$$ for certain visits. My yearly OB appointment should have gotten me $75 for the cancer wellness screening and $100 for an “office visit.” Usually this is straight forward, but the doctor’s office hasn’t filed it yet with my insurance! This was 2 months ago! They did charge me $116 for another pre-op visit, and haven’t filed that either. That was 1 month ago. And that $116 I should get back because I met my deductible with the surgery…
And don’t get me started how a 30 min procedure that could have been done in an office, but the doctor has “better equipment in the hospital to see, and I would have been more comfortable being put under” (to which I wholeheartedly agreed) cost $37,000! For 30 minutes. And that doesn’t count the doctor’s charges and the anesthesia. And for that $37,000 I got some really crappy service too. Oh, and my OB office HAS filed for the surgery stuff, but not the office stuff. Why?!
So now I get to call the OB office to see what’s up with their claims. Wonder how long this call will be.
Edit: Argh! The OB office said they sent the claim in on 2-23. It’s stuck with the insurance company. And I checked my latest EOB for my surgery processed on 4/15/24 that does NOT show the $19.01 supposedly applied to H’s deductible on 4/8/24. Sent the email to 2 reps with the insurance company. I’m not holding my breath this will be resolved easily
Does it REALLY matter who and how many pallbearers there are? I don’t think so, which is why I defer to you on all of this. But know that you and your narrow ideas are ridiculous.
There are days - today is one - where I could drop my pen and notebook on my desk and just walk out the door.
And how long would it take anyone to notice?
The woman who stiffed us thousands of dollars on a bill is hard to pin down. The sheriff’s deputy hasn’t had any luck serving her. He told the collection agency that she has evaded them “in other matters,” too. The next step is to petition the court to be allowed to give notice by certified mail and on her doorstep. What a scumbag. And the newspaper published a glowing story about her. Ugh.
You haven’t seen your grandsons or us hardly at all so we thought you’d like to accompany us on a lovely trip near your house and you are saying no because you got your feelings hurt 3 months ago because your son said he didnt want your stupid vacarion house halfway across the country? Are you kidding me? Guess what – we never thought you’d come, you self centered child
