It makes me ill to watch interviews of kids who have endured something they shouldn’t ever have to witness or be part of.

Hm - seems like bad recruitment practice to advertise a job as 100% work from home, and then let the selected new-hire know they are expected to travel across the country 5 times in 5 months.

Can’t wait for the get together of the CC parents (and one “kid”) of the HS class of 2010! Tomorrow through Sunday on Cape Cod. :slightly_smiling_face:

More kids and families and a community that will be stuck with the aftermath of the shooting for a long, long time. It will haunt them in ways no one thinks of for a very long time. I hate that this keeps happening.

Time 100 in AI cover. Their list is so laughable it makes you wonder about how wrong they are on other topics.

Still too long, still don’t read.

It is almost a year since we moved to a new state. I am a little disappointed with how many of my “friends” from my old state have dropped out of my life. It is so easy to send a text or make a call to catch up. I have done this, but they have not reciprocated. I guess this is how you discover who are really your friends and who are not.

I don’t fly much, and haven’t flown in a very long time. Why is booking a flight today so tricky and expensive? Economy means no inflight bags, so I had to upgrade to economy plus. Then, I had to pay to get assigned seats. On top of that, there were so many fees added to the listed airfare. The “$700” flight is now over $1,000.

Gotta love it (not) when there is a person in the wrong seat :seat:on the plane and they are a complete jerk about it. No mister, stop barking orders to others, especially when you are in the wrong. The correct response is to apologize and be contrite when you are seated 3 rows behind us, in economy, not in comfort plus.

Time to fire up the Winix… smoke from fires in neighboring states is filing the air. Add 90 degree heat, and it doesn’t feel like September is here.

A September day like this makes me very happy to live in NYC, close enough to the harbor that I can leave my windows open and smell clean air inside and out.

When you try to tell me I’m wrong, instead of acknowledging the issue, I’m going to dig my heels in and you’re not helping your company. To offer us the ability to cancel, with cancel fees, when they are 100% of the cost, is not a solution. I have data to back up my claim, you have your opinion. I’ve never posted a negative review, but I may for your company. We will see how the trip goes, but this is not a good start. Especially since you are the owner of the company.

Facing a traffic jam yesterday we decided to find a dog friendly restaurant and sit it out.

We found a great spot and ended up sharing the last outdoor table with another couple who also had a dog.

The owner came by and asked if he could give the dogs some treats.

A few minutes later he came back with 4 strips of freshly cooked bacon.

We all had a wonderful time.

What was the reason for the email you sent?

No, you don’t have every medical condition known to man. What you have is a severe case of hypochondria.

Yes, sister, I realize your daughter is gay. You have reminded me of it every conversation for the past three years. No, I don’t think a gay woman working for a NGO in Chicago warrants victim status. I realize you are led by your emotions and that causes you to be a bit irrational (especially after you have had a drink or four), but it is 2024, not 1963. Please, give it a rest.
