OMG!! Trash pandas can be very mean!!! I do not envy this woman.
So I’ve hesitated to gripe about my prepaid vacation scheduled for week after next in Biltmore Village, Asheville due to the horrible loss of life and property. But just now, after several weeks is the national hotel chain getting back to us to tell us they will refund our money as the local hotel is no longer operational, but only when the local hotel becomes operational again. Couldn’t corporate just refund us and they could settle with the local hotel later? Guess we’ll head back to Hilton Head - after we make sure Milton doesn’t drift that way.
I take Silver Sneakers classes at the Y. I really like my regular leader but she’s on vacation for 2 weeks. I LOVE the sub! She made the classes ‘themed’ and the exercises more like dance classes (although my arms do not agree with me today as it was mostly weight work). Abba, Mo Town and today Frankie Valle.
I’m feeling a little disloyal.
I KNEW that couple you introduced me to 4-5 yr ago were bad news. Self-absorbed, elitist, rude, snobby, cheap when they want to be but spendy when it’s for something they think makes them appear wealthy. I mean, I don’t even relate to somebody who plunks down $100k on a used car, only drives it 10x in a year, and talks all the time about how good they look while driving the car.
You finally see it now. Thank goodness. Oh, guess what? They’re drug addicts & alcoholics now, too. Glad that I won’t have to make excuses anymore about why we won’t be able to attend get togethers at your place if they’re going to be there. Your now former friends always were buttholes. It just took you forever to wake up to it. Better late than never!
And for the record…spending $100k on a car is dumb.

It’s ok if it is done, just don’t let anybody see it. Really?
Northern lights in Maryland right now.
I never thought the “mean girls” stuff would occur in kindergarten. I was hoping GD would have at least a few years at her Catholic school before having to deal with that garbage. The next book selections for my volunteer reading day will focus on kindness and treating others as we wish to be treated.
So uncalled for. Don’t think it went unnoticed.
watching you struggle to recall how to knit a hat you have made approximately 200 times is the saddest thing ever. I wish I could help.
I am so glad we retired from that place. Watching it go down further than I thought would ever happen is hard. Now 10% will lose their jobs because of management ineptitude ![]()
We were so lucky to have a really awesome guide on our just completed guided bike trip. We weren’t so lucky dealing with the small business owner when they changed the hotel that their operations director “sold me” on the trip with, when I pointed out the “new” hotel wasn’t as nice as the other one, and they changed it after the ability to cancel with no penalty had passed. Owner was rude, and this will likely cost them our business. (On our trip we were the couple that had gone on the most trips with the company).
I’m in a hotel in Virginia. A dog next door must be by itself. Poor thing has been barking for two hours straight. Hotel front desk said they can’t do anything as they called the room and the owner without a response. Poor dog must be so stressed. Shame on the owners!
I’d prefer not to share this news with the kids, but at least it’s not the worst news.
I love that when I gave you my two cents, you dismissed it, but now you seem to have taken it to heart. Maybe there’s hope after all.
I told you your pizza was burning. @@
I don’t know. Do I want the job that I feel is my calling but comes with a completely dysfunctional work environment? Or do I want the job that is boring as hell but everyone is nice (at least on the surface)? I don’t know. I DON’T KNOW
Just learned that another friend’s child got engaged (same age as my daughter). Why do I have mixed feelings whenever I hear engagement news among my daughter’s peers? I am of course very happy for the family, but worry that my daughter may end up lonely if she doesn’t marry.
I’m done shopping at Kroger branded stores. Last visit had some great prices – ONLY IF you purchase 5 or more of the same item, many of which are even perishable. (Cost for single items are not reduced proportionately). Who came up with that marketing idea? It discriminates against singles, seniors, many young renters or anyone who cannot afford a home with an over-abundance of storage space – the customers who often need the discounts the most.
