Doc, I was happy to meet you and your staff; finally, a dermatologist here who focuses on medical issues vs. cosmetic ones. Then you mentioned the delay in getting biopsy results. I wish the corporation that owns this multi-state operation could make arrangements with other labs while theirs is being rebuilt. You’re glad the wait is down to three weeks, but that feels way too long to me especially after your comments. I miss the university hospital clinic that would get results back to its doctors quickly, and Mohs surgery could be done the same day as the biopsy.
Sometimes trying to make plans with people is like herding cats
And I should know by now that when you tell me you will be home at 2 to play bridge on line from 2-4 that that means you and your husband will probably go do something else and not bother to let me know that I shouldn’t wait for you.
So when I reached out to you at 2:15 to clarify if we were supposed to play and you told me you two weren’t home, I said I was going to go to the gym, which I would’ve done earlier if I’d known you weren’t going to be on the schedule you agreed to. Then you call at 2:40 ask if I’m already at the gym because now you wanna play. Sorry I’m at the gym. It’s quite frustrating and a bit inconsiderate to not accept that other people’s time/schedules are as valuable as yours.
We’ve been mourning the retirement of our PCP, but I tried to be proactive. In August, I called to set appt for my annual January physical. Figured I’d pick a PCP I’d seen once and liked. They said too early. So today I tried again, and they said first I need to schedule a meet/greet appt (which maybe could include a physical too if PCP thought there would be enough time). First appt is in February. That could be Ok, except usually we do a Feb vacation with 2025 dates still tbd.
Bone density test done. I’m 1/2 inch taller than I thought and my weight matches the home scale. Better yet, I’m only 8 lbs from the Dr U’s upper limit for reconstruction, so the January date is probably going to happen. Joining the Y was the best decision ever.
Since the CDC lowered the pneumonia vaccine age to 60, I figured I’d get that along with my flu shot. Countless vaccines and this is the first time I’ve had a SE from one. Body aches and a headache were not on my bingo card!
Dump run complete. Oil changed in truck. Lunch cooking. Truck tire getting repaired after lunch. Need to run to the bank. Then probably munching more leaves with the lawn mower. Busy Friday.
We haven’t killed or injured any of the 3 extra pets in our house, and they haven’t killed or injured each other. I guess that’s success. They go home Sunday - yay!
Holy smokes - I should have checked airfare BEFORE booking my Holland trip.
Oh well, I’m committed now!
New dishwasher ordered. Adulting isn’t always fun.
Heard outside today:
“Is that a tree root or a water line?”
“I don’t know…”
From the team that is tearing up our roads and sidewalks to install underground broadband.
Washer made a really big bad noise. I think it’s close to dead. Husband is trying another load, but it’s clear it’s off balance or out of alignment or something. I suspect another washer is in our future soon. Of course this is the year we let our home appliance warranty go.
Oh well, it’s less stress than having to wait for warranty company to find someone, then wait for them to come, then wait for whatever part is needed…
You are supposed to think outside the box, not PEE outside the box!!! Dang cats. I know exactly whodunnit. Grrrr…
We are supposed to close Thursday. You’ve had five %^&*$ years to clean out the garage. What makes one more weekend any different?
And now my next battle is to make sure my son doesn’t lose his telephone service that’s provided free by the government (“Lifeline” service). I’m so confused.
I get one email saying he’s going to get a new SIM card in the mail, and then another one saying his service may end November 9 if he doesn’t switch providers. I called the provider and nobody ever picks up. I called the government program and the guy was totally useless. There’s a subreddit forum with conflicting information, too.
I know it will eventually work out, but it gets so tiring. And I don’t want my son to lose his current phone number.

While you are my aunt, we are as close as sisters, and for that I love you. BUT, on the 1st anniversary of my husband’s death, I really did not need to hear about your friend’s new cancer diagnosis and what her treatment and prognosis might be, information you are getting from online searches. Sometimes you just don’t think. ![]()
Ewww. Did not have that on my election bingo card…
My brother runs a youth (5 yrs to hs) lacrosse league and the fall season ended last night. That means it’s ‘clean the truck’ day. You can’t believe all the stuff that is left on the fields. Mostly trash or broken stuff, but expensive water bottles, equipment, sweatshirts, camp chairs. So much stuff that cost a lot of money. I scored 2 new water bottles, a Hydroflask and a Zulu. Alas, no Yeti this time (my favorite).
I was the crazy mother when my kids were little, always making them find their sweatshirts and lunch boxes at school. There was a lost and found there and my volunteer job was to go thru it and try to get the stuff (with names) back to the owners I swear kids went home naked as there were full uniforms, coats, gloves, girl scout sashes, books, backpacks, shoes…
My BIL came over today to shut down the sprinkler system. Love him.
But I had to text and remind him as he thought he’d already done it when he shut down the swamp cooler. We did have our first freeze on Wednesday so it was time. Just can’t get good FREE help these days. without a little prodding
