I love you Jason Kelce. As he was walking through the crowd at the Penn State tailgate, a college student seemed to think it was ok to yell out a homophobic slur about Jason’s brother, with his phone in his hand, probably recording. Jason’s immediate response? To grab the phone out of the dope’s hand and smash it on the ground. Score one for the good guys.

Sad times. The delightful former coworker who was in memory care and then hospice died this week. The elderly church friend who has me listed as Meals on Wheels contact ended up needing to be hospitalized (kudos to her neighbor who went over there and called 911.) Then during celebration of life party for the coworker I got a text from a good friend that her husband who had a stroke last month had just died. I suppose the good news is that I’ve been too distracted to fret over the elections.

I live near an international airport that doesn’t have commercial passenger flights. What it does have is a steady stream of flights in/out & rallies for presidential and vice presidential candidates. (Both sides) The cost to the surrounding communities must be astronomical - there is so much police presence required each and every time. I really hope that there are grants available to offset the costs.

How stupid do you think we are? You can’t fly here, but you flew twice to your vacation house, just a couple months ago. You talk about visiting, and we know you never will. You “didnt have time” to even send a card for your own son’s birthday AND YOU TOLD HIM THAT. What is wrong with you? You don’t deserve him. You should be ashamed.

I told you our 18 year old dog passed comfortably in his sleep, but he actually drowned after falling in the pool. I didn’t want you to feel guilty about how he died, or think of him like that when you swim. But it was horrible finding him drowned, and since I decided to lie about it, I don’t have anyone to confide in.

This is a happy thing. My daughter and her husband Facetimed tonight and told us she is pregnant! She is due on June 3. We are not allowed to tell anyone yet–I completely understand, as I know from experience how provisional pregnancies can be, and I know the pain of having to tell well-meaning people it didn’t work out. But I’m just bursting with happiness and I wanted to tell someone!
