My daughter organized her fall office party for today, because she didn’t want it to be Halloween themed. However, she was not thinking that it is the day after the election. Hopefully, it goes well.

Today is my mom’s 85th birthday. She unfortunately has Alzheimer’s and has lost her short term memory.
I am abroad for business and can’t be with her but taking a half full approach I have been able to call her several times and wish her a happy birthday. Each time she gets very excited and asks where I am.
It seems to make her very happy that she is able to celebrate her birthday with me multiple times. For me it’s bitter sweet.

Forecast 1-3 inches. Went to bed at about 3", went out to knock the snow off the Aspen tree that still has leaves so was sagging. Woke up to 8" (only 4" at the airport but I don’t live at the airport) and still snowing. Finally went out to get the snow off the car to go to a doctor’s appt. Came home and shoveled more as I have another dr. appt at 8 am (downtown, so it will be a slow rush hour).
And more snow on Friday.

Hrrrg!! Please everyone, think about the election commissioners today. My husband is one of our county election commissioners. Very few people understand what the job involves. He meets often with the other commissioners to purge the voting rolls (mostly because of deaths or moving or nonvoting for 2 presidential election cycles). Last week he worked all day making sure that all of the voting machines were working correctly. Monday, he spent 8 hours delivering voting machines throughout our rural county. Yesterday, he was at the polls at 6 am to make sure that everything was going as it was suppose to. He got home at 11 pm last night. Today, he got to the courthouse at 8 am and had to pick up all of the voting machines. It is now almost 6 pm and he still isn’t home. The commissioners are now auditing all of the machines.
He and the other commissioners are honest and want the best for the county. Oh, and he gets about $150 on election day, no matter how long that he works.

I really like math, so sometimes I’ll solve the math problems that pop up in my Facebook feed. Today, there was a particular problem with multiple choice answers … none of which were correct.
