D and I are taking my best friend to see Chelsea Handler tonight. We are 85, 66, and 36. All huge Chelsea fans. Cannot wait to laugh for a change!

S’s family is here for Thanksgiving for first time in years. We ate at D’s house and I left just as it was getting dark because I was exhausted. I get lots of pictures in text chain this morning and several are of their two families visiting/playing in driveway around SIL’s turkey smoking station which included a television and outdoor firepit (he doesn’t do it halfway!). It warms my heart to see kids and their families enjoy each other. Now, if I could just get S & DIL to move here. They can run their business from anywhere.

It’s not a metabolic disorder, but good job spending more money on tests. It’s the extra 15 lbs you’ve put on eating like a horse. Are you okay? Is this stress eating? Have you noticed you aren’t able to eat normal portions? I am hiding food so the late arrivng guests have somehing because otherwise you will eat that, too. Omg.

LEO son proposed to his girlfriend this afternoon at the place where they had their first date. We couldn’t be happier. She’s an amazing young woman, and as a huge bonus, we love her parents as well.

When a basket of chips is placed in the center of a round table of 8, basic manners would say that you should not grab it, put it between your plate and your husband’s plate and proceed to eat them all by yourselves.

I’m watching the leadership of my company destroy us bit by bit. It’s sad to see such a great legacy being eaten away from the inside. And I feel for the younger people I work with as they bear the brunt of bad decision making.
Every once in a while, as a leader, it’s good to look around and see if there is anyone actually following you anymore.

My daughter is so lucky to now have a great landlord. Her heat is not working properly. He talked her through trying to fix it (reset the breaker, change the thermostat battery, etc.) He called a service company who will come on Wednesday. He has promised to be there for the service call (as my daughter has to go into the office that day). Unprompted he brought a pair of electric space heaters and set them up for her. He even said he would comp her some of her electric bill if it was very high this month due to the space heaters./

Well, shoot, looks like I’m going to have to get a new computer. The one I have is 8 years old (!) and running great, but it’s having compatibility issues with AutoCAD.
Computer Guy has moved out of state, but DS builds computers as a hobby and his wife is a computer scientist, so they’re going to help me choose a new one.

Lowe’s, you should have told us that we should make sure our water valve was updated because they cannot connect a new refrigerator to an old valve. Which we didn’t know until they arrived today. So now we’re trying to get a handyman appointment to replace the valve and the fridge is sitting in the garage. If all goes well, it will be done by Friday. Son arrives Saturday. If all doesn’t go well…
Lots of exercise moving food to the little outside fridge and coolers and back.

Anything I don’t have I can buy there. As long as I have a passport, a credit card, my meds, and my hair products I’ll survive.
