There have been several instances of Tesla vandalism near us. What’s the thought process here? A car purchased a few years ago isn’t some signal, it’s a 3 year old EV…that’s it. I hate all the new car tech, but I’m glad Teslas have several cameras to catch idiots doing idiot things.
I hope only the shooter is dead.
This is horrible.
FSU campus shooting.
True story - according to the owner, the house we’ve chosen to stay in Amsterdam is “historical” and was built in the 1600s - fast forward, on an Amsterdam group I follow someone asked about the “KLM houses” (seems biz class passengers receive a Delft pottery house trinket) - so someone responded and shared a couple of them, and someone else shared a walking map where they marked all the locations of these “KLM houses” - being curious I looked and clicked on one that is on the canal we’d be staying. Alas, it was in the 700 block and ours is in the 900. I mentioned it to the group and someone pointed out that there’s a map pin a couple blocks away that I hadn’t noticed. I clicked on it and lo & behold it’s “our” house! Anyway the nerd in me went in search of this particular KLM house but they’re numbered in some random fashion. I dug deeper and found the numbering system, and found the 4 inch KLM house on eBay and bought it! I now think of it as a 3D vision board! Making this trip come to fruition! And I did a couple quick Dutch motif tiny paintings. Yep, I’m odd, but you’ll have to put up with it!
I looked at an old post of mine from 2-3 weeks ago. I noticed a typo and went to fix it, but it won’t let me!
I will have to live with this until my dying day.
You can try backtracking now, but you did indeed strong-arm her into signing an exclusive listing agreement even when she told you she was not ready to commit and had appointments with two more real estate agents. Now we have to fuss about getting that agreement terminated, she’s embarrassed and stressed, and I’ve spent more time on this than I should have had to. Don’t mistreat 80-year-old women who have assertive daughters!
Honey, they are old. Not kinda old. Just old. Give your mom a break, she’s going to forget everything. Give your Dad a wide berth, he’s in denial until he isn’t. I’m so sorry.

Yesterday I went on a 25 mile bike ride with my family. Along waterways, up steep hills, through parks and across some roads. The weather was perfect. The flowers in bloom and the turtles and birds out in the sun. People were smiling as they walked dogs, played with kids, jogged etc. lots of smiles and waves. Cars were even stopping without issue at crosswalks ! For a few hours it was like existing in a happy bubble. It was a wonderful day.
Gotta hate it when you pull up the the gym and there is a fire truck, an ambulance and an EMT truck in front.
Why do I feel like we’re living in a Monty Python skit where the Ministry of Silly Walks makes more sense than what’s actually happening?
I’m determined to play piano regularly again.
I heard this Schubert piece (arranged by Liszt) on Spotify and ordered the sheet music. It’s fairly simple to play, but so beautiful. Next winter we’re going on the charter cruise we’ve taken so many times in the past and I think I will sign up for the talent show. I have no hope of winning, but it will give me something to practice for.
ETA: This is Horowitz playing it. As my husband says, “Everyone else plays in black and white, but he plays in color.” I can’t even put my finger on how he does it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ie_qvSRw8-Y
I don’t do a lot of in person shopping besides foods these days BUT I have to say that I am thrilled that we can now largely have a respite from all the holiday focus in stores - clothing, decor, costumes, candy, food, signage, blah blah blah. That haul from fall/Halloween through Easter is quite a haul for those of us who don’t love all that holiday focus!
The Last of Us Season 2…

Husband’s aunt called yesterday. We successfully avoided discussing their what is sure to be a disastrous road trip which is planned for a time of year when it’s going to be hot and Aunt can’t tolerate hot weather.
Aunt told us about the 4.5 hr ordeal of her & Uncle late at night on Tax Day (4/15) to mail their tax return (which included a payment owed to Uncle Sam) by the midnight deadline. They missed the deadline by an hour and a half.
The post office was only a couple of miles away.

Dear Aunt: you and your husband have always had this uncanny knack for taking a simple thing and turning it into the most complicated process imaginable.
Overshare much? I realize message boards are for sharing, but I am still amazed at the amount of detail information that is shared that doesn’t need to be to get a point across. Maybe I’m just weird (or paranoid)
!
I know she is a rescue and has probably survived more abuse than the gunshot that we know about and I feel sorry for her, but sometimes a dog just isn’t a good and safe fit and needs to either be with professionals that can handle her or put down. I know how much you love animals, but not every dog can be saved.
Whoa - youve been drinking a lot of that Kool-aid
You and your BFF are both pregnant and expecting babies in the next few weeks/months. This should be a happy time, but you just learned that a med school classmate, whom you both know well, died during childbirth last week. And she died in the very same hospital where she’s been working for the last 3 years.
I’m so sorry. Stuff like that isn’t supposed to happen.
We have been friends for many years and I care about you but it’s getting harder to spend time with you. When you make a comment about a family raising five children on one salary and saying they are the best type of parents to be having kids. It leaves me speechless.
Lexus service: they do all of the work and return the car to you washed and neatly vacuumed.
Tesla service: they do half of the requested work, tell you to schedule another appointment in the app, and return the car to you with trash from someone’s fast food lunch in the pax seat.
I’m not making this up.
