Spectrum (formerly Charter) your service sucks. I have your Nomorobo set to the highest level to screen spam calls that I get on your VoiP service, but I still get 8-10 calls per day. I would drop VoiP, but if I do your customer service folks tell me my monthly bill will go up because I bought a bundled service. Since you are the only internet provider available in my town, I can’t switch to another provider.
Wednesday is apparently the new Monday. Welcome back to the office slackers.
I’m so done with what happened at work today that I just turned on a travel documentary on Morocco. Calgon, take me away!
I never ever want to be in those people’s presence ever again. Ever!
people can be really awful in comment sections, even in news stories about terrible things
We have been required to be in the office 3 days a week for over a year. Why does it seem like I am the only one who is actually there three days a week?
Celebrating today! S18 finally landed a next corporate job after a layoff six months post undergrad graduation (start up had overinvested). It’s been a brutal search in a very tough market as many can attest. I’m so incredibly proud of the way he handled his mental health through this time, took on a retail job to keep the bills paid and went back for his MBA (“if not now, when?”) as he searched. That commencement is in two weeks, the new gig starts the week after that. It’s been a long road but today it’s all
.
A funny thing happened on my way back from lunch to jury duty yesterday: I fell flat on my face in front of the courthouse and broke my nose. Everyone (court officers, EMTs, nurses, aides, medical students, resident MD, techs, cab driver home) was wonderful. I wound up at a local hospital, from which I was discharged at around 10pm. Lots of bleeding and pain the first hour, bleeding continued until last night but no more and the pain stopped a long time ago. Just two black, swollen eyes and a truly ugly red nose this morning but it could have been a lot worse! I will spare you the selfie. And the check for $80 for two days’ service will be in the mail.
Some days the big things are so depressing that you have to find joy in the small things. Such is the case when it is raining and I can drive from my covered space in the condo basement garage into the basement garage at Publix with nary a drop of rain on my head.
A positive attitude really does make a huge difference.
I’m currently in an intense battle with my own body. Can I drink Gatorlyte Rapid Rehydration faster than my body can expel it.
Your ‘problems’ seem mostly like a humble brag. Just sayin.
You might have acknowledged that I missed my lunch date with the group because I had to drive you and wait for you. I don’t mind it, terribly – but acknowledgement would be welcome.
The weeds, the weeds! I can’t remember this many weeds in the prior years.
I have to pull up all the border paving stones, pull the weeds, spray with weed killer, and re-lay the pavers. This is too much work as I don’t really like gardening.
I am feeling old. Just googled a classmate from middle school and found her obituary.
Sometimes things are the way they are, not the way you think they SHOULD be. The world does not run perfectly.
Grrrrrr. My credit card was compromised again. A pox on those involved ![]()
School ends in a month, the process for admissions generally starts in the fall for the proceeding year and almost all desirable options for next fall are full, it’s Sunday evening, and you’re telling me that you want to switch schools for next year? ![]()
My BIL is a horrible parent. Rapidly turning into an alcoholic. Yells at his kids all the time. Calls them names. My SIL won’t divorce him, feels she has no choice but to stay.
So both of their kids suffer as a result.
My SIL won’t face reality until it hits her in the face. Her 13 yr old son is skipping school, has severe learning disabilities, and up until a couple of yr ago, was 3 yr behind in reading ability. Her 16 yr old daughter has ADHD and autism but even with a diagnosis now, she still doesn’t think it’s really real and refuses to allow her ADHD daughter to take the physician prescribed ADHD medication…which her daughter has SAID was helping her.
Oh. My. Gosh.
Some people should not be parents.
Their kids deserved better parents.
Their kids didn’t ask for this.
21 is far too old to pull a “prank” like that on Shadeur Sanders. I don’t care what you think of him or his dad - that was just plain mean. Obviously, it was premeditated, because he had to get the number from his dad, who I assume (hopefully) did not actually “give” it to him. I would be livid if my kid did something like that … and I would be incredibly disappointed in him.
