Say it Here ‘Cause You Can’t Say it Directly—The Get it Off Your Chest Thread (NO REPLIES TO OTHER POSTS)

Last Tuesday I rode my bike (yeah me!) first time in 2 weeks -

2 things kept me from riding - the first was my confidence was really shot after falling in Belgium. The second is I’ve got a rib twinge (still) from falling - and I wanted to wait until I felt I wouldn’t be a detriment to myself or others. I did go Friday for an X-ray -

Bummer, X-rays show a hairline fracture on the 7th rib (left side) - the positive is knowing and being able to explain the discomfort. No hill riding for a while, but flat rides are fine. Should be all good in about 3 to 4 weeks. Meanwhile I rode 22 miles along the beach yesterday, and it was deserted (which I love)! :two_hearts:

And I’m thinking about another boat/bike tour - I don’t drink but this one looks really interesting - Discover Northern Burgundy on a Memorable Boat and Bike Tour

Yes, I know he’s a narcissistic a-hole (you haven’t realized the narcissist part yet) and that he is using you (somehow you haven’t figured that out yet either) for a roof over his head. You let him live there and do nothing while you work your butt off and now in the last few years you’ve nursed him through a heart attack, by-pass, and amputation of 5 toes (all caused by not controlling his diabetes) while he does nothing but eat himself to death. You have every right to kick him out and you should. I’ve even told you that it would be perfectly understandable. Yet you don’t. And I don’t push you to, because then I’d be stuck with him.

(Backstory - she was wife #2. He left her to go back to wife #1 who then also became wife #3. Wife 1/3 realized that despite being very charming, he hadn’t changed and divorced him a 2nd time. Wife #2 was dumb enough to take him back.)

Well, dad, problem solved. You fell in the hospital cafeteria while visiting your wife. Your driving leg, the one with the hip fracture, is all swollen and bruised. You’re back in a wheelchair and not going anywhere. My brother drove your car back to the house and took the keys. I’m sorry you’re in such pain, but at least we’re no longer worried you’ll try to move back home. Time to sell the house.

It’s a RIGHT OF WAY. It does not matter where the boundary pins are. You cannot gate the road to deny your 80-year-old neighbor access. Is the road association going to have to spend thousands of dollars to enforce this?

Umm… if you’re going to tout your “excellent writing skills” in an email, maybe don’t say “for all intense purposes” in that same email?

Several points:

  1. Neighbor: you do not have diabetes, as I long suspected. But now what are you gonna do to lose weight? Exercise, eat right, follow Doctors directions??

  2. Narcissistic brother: we know that you offered our services and our FINANCIAL help to our scum-sucking extended family member, without our knowledge (!!!) for their funeral.

How’s it feel to have to put up or shut up? Open up that encrusted credit card because you’re the only one who needed the glory and praise to look like their savior.
Not one red dime from any of us. You figure it out. Quit trying to be the patriarch! What century are you living in? We are never going to respect or listen to you. Our father may have been “poor and uneducated” (your words) but he had integrity, respect, honesty, amazing work ethic, and dedication to our family. That’s why we survived and thrived!

  1. Me: I am so happy and proud of myself. I was able to hop across the physical therapy room and jump repeatedly! Haven’t been able to do that in eight months! All of the PT‘s applauded and I was so happy! It doesn’t take much to make me happy! Hubby is so proud of me! Great day!!!

I am very sad to read that Elephant&Castle on Greenwich Ave. in the Village (NYC), will close for good on Sunday.

How come a man who has a 2-car garage with walls of storage cabinets and a giant attic above is running out of space for his tools and crap to the point he has to claim 7 out of 9 large drawers in the laundry room?

I drive with my windows open every day that the temperature falls between 55 and 100 degrees.

Which is worse?

On my way to the office at 7:15 this morning there was a Mercedes S560 directly in front of me. The man driving was wearing a latex glove to smoke weed, polluting my truck with his skunk smoke.

On the way to lunch I was stuck behind a full and fragrant trash truck oh a humid 90 degree day.

I broke a toe, which really sucks. The urgent care doctor gives me a referral to a podiatrist and tells me to see them within 3-5 days.

The podiatrist’s office tells me the next available appointment is a week away.

When I point out that this is beyond the 3-5 day recommendation I’m told that “it’s a week, but it’s only 5 business days, so you’ll be ok”.

I’m sorry, but my bone might be healing in a bad position, and the healing doesn’t take weekends off.

Dear neighbor, WHY do you need to run the very old, very loud window air conditioner? It’s 70degrees outside with a beautiful breeze!

Reminder that this is a no response thread.

We had a lovely visit today with several couples we haven’t seen in years (we worked together in the 80’s). It was sobering to share stories of the people we knew who have passed away - we were separated by many miles and many years, but it seems like yesterday when we were young professionals starting our lives. Those of us who got together are all active and engaged in life - but knowing that quite a few of the people we worked with at that time are gone is a reminder that we’re not at the beginning of our lives anymore.

Amazon customer service you stink. Over ten days ago, after spending over 1 1/2 hours on the phone with 3 different customer services reps, you said you would issue a credit to my account within 7 days. Didn’t happen. Called again today, 3 different customer service reps, another wasted 30 minutes, and it ended where you hung up on me claiming you could not hear me. There appeared to be no case number from my last call, you have no record of it, and I never got any email follow ups. How can that be? Amazon has no manned emails to send complaints to. I am very frustrated!

When the ER doctor tells you that you should not fly, maybe you should you listen to them instead of going straight to the airport and exposing everyone to your clearly symptomatic case of COVID.

You need to accept that you’ve made the choices that have landed you where you are today. I am not responsible for those decisions and I am not going to try and help you when you won’t listen. Never have and never will. I can’t begin to tell you how sad I am.
