Say it Here ‘Cause You Can’t Say it Directly—The Get it Off Your Chest Thread (NO REPLIES TO OTHER POSTS)

Today started with a doctor appointment and the gold stars I was expecting to receive were not forthcoming. I came home and was really excited because I thought the neighbors were actually raking their leaves to the curb but all they were doing was making piles which will eventually end up in our yard. Then my lab work came in and my kidney function is impaired. There is more but I just can’t right now. So. I ate sausage, potatoes and Dijon vinaigrette and drank a glass of beaujolais nouveau, diet be damned. Tomorrow will be better.

Mind blown, Final Jeopardy. I did not know that important fact (deleted it because of PST!).

To the family sitting next to us at on our cruise that we and everyone here paid at least 5 figures for

Yes, yes it makes you look cheap for removing the auto gratuity! $17 per day per person!

My husband worked for a brokerage firm in downtown NYC after 9/11. He and his coworkers were unknowingly exposed to many carcinogens during that time, as the air was filled with stuff. My husband had Lymphoma (currently in remission for about 10 years). All of his former co-workers are now getting sick with various weird cancers.

Yes the government has a compensation program and a health plan for these people, but they would all rather be healthy than get money.

These are regular people, (office workers, not rescue workers) who are still suffering from a terrible act of terrorism against our country over 20 years ago.

Dear Spouse, we had a discussion yesterday morning about how we need to eat out of the refrigerator the next couple of days so we will have room for Thanksgiving prep and food for extra people in the house. In addition to Sunday chicken parm leftovers, there is your “special” soup you love that I bought you over the weekend for you to eat AND there are 3 stuffed pork chops that need to be cooked that you also asked me to get for you over the weekend.

I open the refrigerator just now to see while you were out today you picked up MORE SOUP and a large loaded salad which you claim you are having for dinner.

What about eating through the delicious leftovers and meat that needs to be cooked did you not understand?!!!

No, you don’t actually need to share whatever your current earworm is by mindlessly humming snatches of it all evening long .

You are older and sicker than I thought. I am scared.

Dear Nosy Neighbor,

In about 3 weeks, we get to say a happy goodbye to you. So thrilled that you will no longer be living next door to us anymore.

That being said, if you don’t want Gary the Gopher and his gang to continue living in your front and backyard, it would be wise to not leave food out for them. Like, you know, the pumpkins you have on display in your front yard.

What the heck is your problem? Seriously, I swear, you are as dumb as a box of rocks sometimes. But in about 3 weeks, you’ll be taking your box of rocks somewhere else and you can spy on your new neighbors there. God help them.

Oh and you’re inviting the javelinas to come hang out, too. Again, super dumb. Pumpkin are javelinas’ favorites.

Sending up huge prayers to the travel gods that my D makes it home tonight for Thanksgiving! I hate that she couldn’t leave until after work today but I get it. She needs the PTO for other commitments, including xmas next month.

But please, please, please get her home tonight! :folded_hands:

Just had a long overdue whole house carpet cleaning by an excellent brother duo. It was expensive, but dang, it was worth it.

You have so much clutter in your home that you really have only about 1.5 smallish rooms usable for Thanksgiving. You expect to host 10 adults and 4 kids under the age of six. You plan to give the kids toys to play with indoors including but not limited to electronic drumsticks (“sounds like a real drum!”) and flying drone light balls (“throw it in the air - it really floats!”). Your adult kid volunteered you to host (as opposed to him hosting in his nearby newer and bigger home). How about asking him to help you clear some space in another room? You haven’t been able to do it alone in the past month and I’d be shocked if you get it done with one day to go. I’ll be attending - thanks for the invite - but am grateful this Thanksgiving for the grace to arrive late and leave early.

I am happy to wash and put away the dishes, fold laundry, go shopping etc. and I’ve got the recycling, compost, etc figured out. But the single vs multi layer plastics is sometimes beyond my pay grade.

I took some coworkers to lunch today. The restaurant had a holiday promotion that offered a $10 bonus gift card for every $50 gift card you buy. Our waitress was very good, and seemed extremely nice. When she brought me the bill I asked if the servers were in a contest to sell the most gift cards. She said yes, so I bought 20. She was so thankful.

Gearing up for tomorrows drive up to the mountains for dinner with husband’s cousins. That side of the family are on the complete opposite political side from our family. In fact, that’s why we haven’t shared Thanksgiving in a few years at either’s house and now meet in the middle. So, we promise to be good and NOT talk politics. OTH - they are Alabama fans and we are Auburn fans so let the food fight begin! We will likely get slaughtered in our rivalry game but oh, it will be so much fun - an Iron Bowl at night in Jordan Hare….War Eagle!

So entertaining to have kid and young adult recent grads stopping in for visits. All are proudly supporting themselves in what we will call very modest living situations.

“WOW! You have a center island in the kitchen!”

“A dishwasher! Woohoo!”

“I miss having a yard, it’s so cool!”

Mind you, we have a comfortable but definitely not super fancy home.

So this is what it feels like to work the day after Thanksgiving. It’s been so long, I’d forgotten.

Thank you, our local paper for publishing the controversial “top 50” list! It might have prevented a lot of political fights at the dinner table yesterday because the folks were too busy debating whether RW deserved to be named number 1 greatest Seahawk of all times!

Listen retailer, I like your clothing and home goods, though it’s a bit on the pricey side for me. You started inundating me with emails at the beginning of the week enticing me with 40% off discounts on flannel and cashmere items. I need to buy some Christmas gifts so I decide I’ll take advantage of your discount.

But… before your big Black Friday, it might be a good idea to make sure that the software update to your e-commerce site actually works. I’ve been trying since Thursday to order a number of items, the total of which adds up to good chunk of change… and your commerce site is completely down. I can put items in my cart , but I can’t pay for them. ApplePay, GooglePay and PayPal will approve the transaction but it never actually goes through. I can’t input my credit card info to pay on the site because it times out when I hit the enter delivery address button. I can’t replace the placeholder data for my default and shipping address. I can’t update my account to enter my real address. I can’t update my account to remove an old address for one of my gift recipients. The site times out EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

And, of course, your customer service is off for the holiday so there’s no way to contact your company to actually speak to a human being to place my order via phone.

I watched you grow up, and I enjoyed seeing you become happy with your life. However, your belief in conspiracies may very well lead to the health of your children being compromised. Please stop sharing lies as if they were truths.
