Coming home from CA, while I was waiting for my flight I started chatting with another woman who was waiting on a different flight. She was glowing. She’s in her 60s and had just met her 80+ year old birth mother for the first time, along with some siblings. It just made me SO glad for her, because we all know it could have gone the other way. And what was also great? Her best friend came with her to support her. It made me so happy to see that she had someone in her life that stood by her like that.

Yeah, I can’t with that. 
Two days later I am still ticked at how many plastic bags containing recyclable material were at the recycling center I use. Why do people think it’s okay to toss a clear plastic trash bag full of paper and pasteboard into the paper bin, etc.? Everything is clearly labeled with instructions to not use plastic bags!

Dear HVAC company- any time we’ve had an issue, it has taken forever to get service. When YOU want to come perform routine maintenance, not only do you call to schedule before 8 am but you arrive at the house an hour early. Grumble.

Alaska Airlines sucks.
They acquired Hawaiian Airlines. I have a Hawaiian Airlines frequent flyer account with HA (with a measley amount of miles on it). Alaska converted that to their frequent flyer program.
Great, right? No.
I CANNOT get the login to work. I’ve gone through their automated system dozens of times now to do it. Doesn’t work.
And now? There’s fewer flights available from my airport to Hawaii. Most of the flight options that they do have now, you have to change planes in SFO, Portland, or Seattle.
I live in Arizona.
I don’t want to have to do a 3 hr flight just to change planes and then go ~ 5 hr to Hawaii! Forget it!
I’ll use Southwest or American. At least American flies direct from PHX to HNL.
From what I’ve read online, traveling for some people right now on a Hawaiian flight can be a nightmare. Customers not able to see their HA flight on the Alaskan mobile app. Customers not able to see their HA flight on the Alaska website. Calls to customer service result in no resolution and no help. And sometimes even despite going to the airport, they can’t check in for their flight because the Alaska system doesn’t recognize the HA flight.
Screw that. Y’all can have my sad ~8000 frequent flyer miles.
It’s the end of an era. When I was a kid, went to Hawaii a few times and every time we got on a Hawaiian airplane, it was like your vacation started before you even left the airport. Great experience.
But make me change planes in SFO? Forget it. You know how often there’s weather delays there because of rain and fog? ALL THE TIME! I’m not flying through SFO. Goodbye Hawaiian Airlines. You were amazing.
As for you, Alaska Airlines, you can take a long walk off a short pier.

I am leaving this here because it’s eating me up and there is nowhere else I can post on my personal pages as it involves politics and my family.
Two truths can be true at the same time, and that is a total mind XXXX.
For those of you that don’t know, I have family members that were taken hostage. The women and children were released in the first round of hostage releases, but the father of 2 of the children was held until this last round. Yesterday, they met with Trump in the Oval Office. I saw a picture of all of the released hostages and kind of had to just put politics aside and thought I could forget about it. It was a one day thing. I can reject everything he does, but still have to recognize he played a role in releasing someone I thought I might never see again. I sat on it. It made sense. I thought I’d just let it go.
Today, I received the most precious picture of the girls (5) playing behind the curtains of the Oval Office. I look at the picture and I’m just at a loss. I can’t/won’t post it as it isn’t mine to post, and I know my family hasn’t posted it anywhere. But I love the picture. It might be one of the most precious pictures in my possession of someone that is still alive. But I don’t know what I’m going to do with it. I both love and hate what it represents. (It’s an iconic picture. Even though it’s a close-up, you can’t help but notice it’s the Oval Office).

Thank goodness for AirTags!. DH’s luggage was sent to Cincinnati instead of the airport we were flying to get home from a 2+ week cruise. Not only that, they delivered it to some random person in Cincinnati. Thank goodness she was honest. So, after being sent to Chicago and then our airport, the bag arrived home. Everything worked out well. Unfortunately, the bag doesn’t get the extra air miles.

Wow. Had a really nice, early-because-thats-when-everyone-was-available Thanksgiving celebration yesterday. Now the house is quiet again, H and I are exhausted and still full. Looking forward to turkey sandwiches for dinner, and cold stuffing for breakfast. And a few days of sitting quietly on the sidelines, watching the frenzy leading up to Thursday.
