Say it Here ‘Cause You Can’t Say it Directly—The Get it Off Your Chest Thread (NO REPLIES TO OTHER POSTS)

Miracles apparently still happen! I was locked out of one of my retirement accounts. Called the number on the contact page fully expecting to be immersed into the AI hell, but a real (and a very nice) human picked up the phone right away and fixed the issue in 2 minutes! Wow!! I couldn’t thank them enough!

Dear self: You bought tickets to the all star baseball game for our anniversary last year, and tickets to see the Savannah Bananas on Mother’s day this coming year. When did you start to like baseball??

Let’s tie a bow on the week, that was non-stop for me since Monday, including late nights, crazy early mornings, parties, lunches, dinners, corralling, and just dropped the last work visitor off at the airport so they’re heading home. I have never been this exhausted after our end of year event in 11 years. But this one was exhausting!

The best part was having staff come to tell me they had a great time, were surprised (we had several surprises) and asking “what are we doing next year?” I think it’ll be in Austin, but we’ll see.

SIL, please stop calling your brother when your H is around. His constant background contributions to the conversation (while you have the call on speakerphone) are not positive, but the stress he creates is very real. Your brother ends up confused, and frankly, he’d prefer not to talk to you anymore unless it’s something important about your mom. Today’s gem: SIL asks if he’s okay with her giving money on behalf of their mom (their mom’s money - she has plenty) to the AL staff members. H says yes. SIL offers two amounts, and H responds affirmatively to the higher amount. BIL chimes in, “Well, it will come out of your half of the inheritance.” H simply said, “That’s fine with me.” But he sure wanted to say a lot more!

Made a quick run to grab stuff from my daughter at her Boston apartment. Felt so lucky to nab a spot at a meter. Put in 50 cents, got me 8 minutes of parking! That is just plain crazy.

Why are you asking to get something appraised ten years after our parents deaths. You didn’t want it ten years ago, so I took it to keep it in the family. Ten years have gone by, it’s mine now to do with what I please.

D1 bought an LV pochette for me a while back. Since Covid (not going into the office) I have stopped using it. Two years ago, I was looking for it as I was beginning to go in the office, but I couldn’t find it. I looked through out the apartment twice, with no luck. Today, I all of a sudden felt like today was the day to find it. It took me less than 5 minutes. It was lying underneath another handbag. But I would swear that I have turned my place upside down twice trying to find it.

Really can’t say this in my neck of the woods, but I’m glad you didn’t win. I have had mixed feelings about you all year. Loved seeing the success of the team as a whole and the coach is fantastic, but your family has behaved so poorly with arrests, expulsions & under-dressing throughout the season, that is has been an embarrassment. Your tweet recently was an embarrassment and so were your comments last night. Good luck in your further pursuits…..

And this is why I hate Christmas in AZ:

There’s not enough fa-la-la-la-la in the eggnog to overcome the smell of “tourists covered in oil.” I want snow. You know, as in “real” Christmas.

So, apparently he never learned if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say it. Appalling.

Wouldn’t it be Customer Service 101 to say, “I’m sorry” to someone whose mail hasn’t come in a week? After she came to the post office (since they don’t answer the phone anymore) and was the 10th person in line? Ugh.

My package has been delivered to a porch that is not mine, but I have to wait at least 24 hours before you will do anything about it, because the carrier may be still going to deliver my package. WTH??? I am so fed up with “customer service” these days.

Holiday Merchant Fails:

Breck’s Amaryllis - not growing or blooming. And they asked me to wait up to six weeks to see if it blooms. (Please send a replacement).

Nordstrom. Nope package hasn’t shipped. Please wait another week. Item arrived the same day. They are continuing to send shipping updates.

Jeni’s — may have been operator error. Ice cream was delivered by Amazon/Whole Foods in a paper bag.

Wine (from a state not known for wine) requires a signature. FedEx has been seen on my camera 3x. But they won’t leave it with a signature. Now it is being re-directed to a FedEx office. Um, yay?

David’s Cookies: received without a note or any info on the sender.

Anyone else having fun? (No reply!)
