Happy update: My son actually indicated he might let me help him with his resume tomorrow, and he offered to cook dinner one night this week 
I get parent points because I did not make any comments about the renowned career center at his college. I am trying to celebrate small successes.
Yes, I also have to admit that besides the drama, I don’t really want to share my goodbye time with the GF. I want a dignified hug with smiles and then some tears in the car while my DS goes off happily to explore and make new friends. I do not want anyone making him feel guilty about embracing his college life. I also don’t want anyone witnessing it all if it isn’t quite as dignified as I hope.
I am amazed at how maturely one of you behaved, and at how immature and with such little self-awareness the other one of you is. Please don’t pull me into the middle of this.
I might have to go to Costco to get the appropriate amount of popcorn to make it thru this poo storm. It’s on all channels!!!
Sometimes it is admirable to take a principled stand, but it can be just as admirable to make a reasonable compromise and move forward.
I am happy that your business that you purchased two years ago is doing well. I am also glad that you were able to buy a lovely house. I am concerned that your spending is really high. You are living like you won the lottery. Income fluctuates when you are business owners.
