Say it here cause you can't say it directly- the get it off your chest thread (Part 1)

Having a really stressful job and knowing that at least for the foreseeable future that getting another job is not an option, and then having people tell me “relax, it is just a job, why do you let it bother you so?” grrr

Dear Board, this is the reason why you should let the nationals in. I took off a week, cancelled several jobs, to get out this all day job. Now, the day before due, attorney calls and cancels the order, case settled. Guess what, the national is going to pay me. Now how many of the locals would do that? None, nada. Been there, done that. I’d rather work for peanuts and get paid, than bust my butt for free!

Will our high schools please start teaching units in English or Social Studies classes so that students can trace and evaluate sources of “news” they read on Facebook?

Or are the gullible ones from our generation?

Thank you Mr Mouse for dying in our guest bedroom wall the week before Thanksgiving. Thank goodness we have an air purifier that I can run 24/7.

My dear BFF- You are amazing and soon good karma will come your way. So, come on karma, please do your thing!!!

Argh - I feel ghastly and didn’t need to fight the flu medicine bottle to get it open when I staggered to my car from the drug store. It did help thank goodness. I should have got my behind to the store earlier instead of feeling miserable all day. I seem to have been sick more often than usual this year. Not fun for my body or my bank account.

I visit your inlaws weekly because your FIL in is hospice and your MIL is sad and lonely. I live 30 miles away and you are 2500 miles away. I do it because this is what families do.

Your H is here for a week and and when I visited yesterday, he said “you are really good with her, thank you SO much! I found out more listening to you two talk than Mom has told me all week.”

Sometimes when I tutor you, I wonder if your Wernicke area is broken… You just don’t know when to hold your tongue.

Message on IRS CPA information line “In order to improve overall service, the IRS will be limiting services after January 2015”.

When life becomes a comedy skit.

I know there’s no obligation, but it would be really nice to get updates from folks who have asked for (and received )a lots of info and advice from other posters. Kind of disappointing not to hear back…as that info could add to the general fund of knowledge…

Having trouble accepting that D will not be back in our general area permanently anytime soon. It makes me so sad. Keep repeating to self - she is grown and should not make decisions based on how much I miss her! So excited to see her tomorrow.

I’m thrilled that the dog has not been “marking” in the bathroom, I feel bad for yelling at him for the recurring wet spots and kicking myself that I didn’t open the cabinets and realize I had a pipe slowly leaking under the sink - what a mess! At least the plumber is on the way, so sorry to blame you puppy!

Loving that a relative posted a video apology on FB for circulating poltical information that he now knows was completely false. Guessing his kids put him up to it. Wondering how hard it would have been to verify in the first place, though…

Not cool, Michael Shannon. Not cool at all…

None of this is normal.

That thing where you write out a post and then delete it because you feel guilty for writing it. But you still mean it.

We are 90 bucks short of proving to the IRS that yes we did use the money for education expenses in 2014. I just need to find S2s credit card statement that has books on it. i just can’t remember where I filed them.

Babysitting two beautiful, funny, playful kittens and watching them try so hard to get my old cat to play makes me want another one so badly. But DH won’t hear of it. Waaaaaah.

The plumber came and said the problems with the two sinks are caused from goo from the A/C drain lines. I thought the yearly maintenance fees we pay on the AC maintenance contract included routine cleaning of these lines. Called the AC people and found it does not, they just look for back up in the units in the attic, really? The toilet that we thought just needed to be tightened actually needed to be re-seated and needed a new flange. That required some welding and the plumber requested I open doors and windows to provide ventilation so the smoke detectors won’t go off.

No problem, but while he was working a snake slithered in the kitchen door! I freaked out and call DH at work to ask if it’s dangerous, he asks me to text him a picture while I’m attempting to take a picture the snake finds a hole above the baseboards of the kitchen cabinets. Now I have a snake in the house under the kitchen cabinets and no idea when it will re-emerge! It’s about 18 inches long, thin with a gray pattern - dh thinks it’s harmless but I still don’t want it in my house!

While I’m freaking out about the snake, the plumber also finds that the pressure valve to the house is shot, I’d asked him to check this because neighbors with houses the same age and same builder had warned me that their pressure valve was shot and if not replace could become a much bigger issue.

So now I have a much large plumbing bill than expected and a snake in the house - really I would have rather dealt with the dog marking the bathroom floor!
