Please stop telling me you know how I feel. No, you don’t, just as I don’t know how you feel. I lost my husband of 32 years, and you lost your daughter-in-law. They are both devastating losses, but nothing alike. Just stop.
I was not happy when you decided you were going to stay another week, and yet I’m kind of sad you decided to leave today. Even though you drive me nuts, and you are not really old, I worry about you and worry about how long you’ll be with us.

Just when I think I’m in your corner, you pull something like this and I back off again.
Just once I would like someone to treat me. Someone to buy MY dinner. Someone to DRIVE me somewhere. Someone else to host the holiday dinners so I don’t have to do all the cleaning, cooking, and cleaning some more.
The more I see, the more I think HL Mencken was right, that no one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American People and maybe the idea that people in this country had common sense and some sort of wisdom was like a lot of things, an illusion.
