The power is out at home due to extremely high winds…husband is so bent out of shape about it (like there is anything we can do about it!) - I think I’ll spend the night at work…where there is power and no whining…!
Ack, crisis diverted. I thought my husband and I were flying to Detroit on March 18 to see my dad get an award. Just realized it’s actually March 25!! How did I make that mistake?? DH had it written down correctly on his calendar. Thank goodness I made the airline reservations for the right dates.
So many selfies. Yes, we know you are beautiful. Every day we are reminded.
Yay Barcelona!!! <:-P
she never called me
The waiting is the hardest part. (Well, maybe except some of the other parts.)
Kicking myself for not rotating monitor to portrait orientation sooner… it makes writing reports and reading word documents so much nicer. B-)
My kid won first place at State DECA!!!
Winter was on the mild side. Now we will be moving spring forward with the clocks. Windows open and definitely feels and looks like spring. Next week is spring break. Why are we scheduled to have cold weather and possible snow? I hope this surprise winter weather does not mess up our plans. I was so looking forward to some outdoor fun in the sun .
The teen years were a walk in the park…the young adult years , not so much
People, people, people … I sent those invitations to actual grown-ups, not a bunch of clueless Millennials. You all know what RSVP means, so please, do so!
Glad it is raining in the passes after our 5 feet of snow this past week. Just in time for spring break.
And Dear Cal Poly: A one time $1000 scholarship will not get my OOS kid to attend.
Guess what? You’re not evaluating applications for admission , so it’s a moot point what you would weigh and who you would accept.
I suppose that I probably could say this elsewhere, but… This whole university thing is TOO STRESSFUL, particularly for the kids. An 18 year old kid (with or without straight A’s) shouldn’t be stressed out regarding whether they can get into an appropriate university and how far into debt they are going to need to go. When I read posts about whether a 14 year old will get into their top choice of prep school I think this is insane, and also wonder: Is this kid going to be able to keep it together for 8 more years until they graduate university?
Expecting extracurriculars for kids to me just adds to the stress. If a kid is a strong student and has good grades, and is supportive of other kids and helps them out, that should be enough.
Nothing will change until I change
Our relationship just is not what I thought, is it? Nor are your relationships with many others. You’re actually pretty two faced. If someone is no longer in the position of doing something for you, you’re done with them.
You’re the dog owner, he’s a feisty dog. It’s your job to keep him under control. Bet it’s not the first time he got his sharp teeth on a person passing by.
When did you become such an angry old man? I am so sad and disappointed that you will likely be remembered that way.
You’ve had nothing but disappointments the last couple years, but you are keeping your chin up and plugging away. Time for something good in your life.
You’d think someone that is smart enough to get into UT would know how to use Google to find answers to their questions!
