Say it here cause you can't say it directly- the get it off your chest thread (Part 1)

Hey Chinese takeout place…when I ask and pay for “extra vegetables” I was expecting something a little beyond a extra pile of onions!!!

Wow, that was a rude response! I hope you’re far less condescending in real life.

Kid, please try to take this in stride. Don’t get into a funk.

OK, so teacher schedules are posted online. I swear, we’re worse than the kids! My phone blew up-- there’s a huge group chat as we see who is free with whom, who shares a cafeteria duty, and so on.

My daughter thinks it’s hysterical!

Several years ago I sent you a FB friend request and you didn’t accept. My feelings were hurt at the time, but I got over it. Today I was able to read what you had written about a prominent young woman because a mutual friend commented on your post. Your comments were b**chy & cruel. I’m glad we’re not FB friends. I find it really mean to talk about others behind their back in a public way. If you don’t like what she did, say it to her face.

A public service announcement:

In the US, we write the “$” sign before the amount, not after it.

So, even though we say “Five dollars” we write “$5.”

PLEASE learn this before entering college. You don’t come off nearly as intelligent as I suspect you are.

If you ever had me for math, you lost a point each time you wrote it incorrectly.

A loaf of heavy duty mol bio with a bit of Chinese to English “loss in translation” sprinkled in… I am in for a long haul.

stop taking your frustrations out on me

Right now, at this point in time, life is pretty sweet. I am so thankful. We are so blessed.

Really? After a four-month yard construction project ends, I finally wash all the windows and we’re hit with a dust and thunderstorm that was not on the map for our area earlier today? Unbelievable.

great! so now we are finding out he probably has early or mid stage dementia

well, that does explain a lot…

We could use some good news for a change.

Yikes, seven house guests to show around southern Maine today, along with getting ready to take D back to college - we’re leaving at 3 am tomorrow morning!

It’s your own fault. One more chance, and then we’ll see what happens.

And there’s absolutely nothing – nothing at all – I can do to help you with this.

Dear co-worker, you aren’t fooling anyone. We can all smell the booze on you, and the perfume doesn’t help. Spraying hairspray in the middle of the hall doesn’t help, either, it just makes everyone mad.

PS Sitting in the front window of the bar around the corner for hours every day is the farthest thing from discreet.

For the most part, we on the CC parents forum are a group of well-educated, rational adults of good will. But we have a really hard time discussing controversial subjects without going off the rails. This does not give me a lot of hope for the country.

I avoid most controversial subjects these days. It’s just too emotional and I really haven’t found them profitable discussions, sadly.

How am I supposed to do my job when none of you keep me in the loop on anything? Seriously…how can I be effective when the communication within this team leaves so much to be desired?

Person #1 - You need to step outside your comfort zone a little bit. It’s good for you.

Person #2 - Get over yourself.

Person #3 - Stop being so judgmental and maybe you’d be a happier person. Open your mind a little bit and you might learn that people who you disagree with are nice people, too, and they aren’t the enemy and we really can figure out how to get along with one another and respect each other’s differences.

Second google pixel has bit the dust. That’s two out of three I purchased last November. This time I learned and am dealing with Google right away. They will give me a new phone, but I have to send them mine… so will be without for several days.

Should I be delighted that my eldest child, who came to visit with his girlfriend, was actively looking for things to do around the house to help out his apparently elderly and helpless parents, or devastated that we now are apparently elderly and helpless?
