Say it here cause you can't say it directly- the get it off your chest thread (Part 1)

Nonprofit downsizing and being on the wrong side of it, for the second time in 2 years, sucks. Time to find a new job it is.

Mom, I wish you would ditch the chemo. It’s not supposed to have any chance to be a cure and may or may not lengthen life. It’s really only making the end of your life miserable. An extended life of misery is just not worth it. Take your bucket (list), grab from it, use your retirement savings, make peace with God, and enjoy your last days rather than spending them in your chair or the bathroom. If you die happy(ier) with a penny in the bank, I’d much rather see that than what you’re going through now knowing it’s only going to get worse until the end.

I’m so sorry Keytruda didn’t work. It was worth a try.

But… it’s your life and I’m here to support you no matter what you choose. I just prefer to see you with a breeze in your face, laughing, traveling, and seeing new places, friends, and family over sitting at home with the side effects of chemo even if it means if I see you for a shorter period of time. The bitter end will be that way no matter what you choose for the “close to end” part.

Yes, the family pays for the post-funeral lunch. Must you ask?
(I guess it’s better than watching you hit up the two handfuls of people able to attend for payment…)

No, No, No facebook friend. We do NOT need to know that you find men’s boxers more comfortable than women’s underwear with seams and that since you and your husband are the same size, you can share! Way TMI.

The good news is the raccoon has thus far not been able to get into my new twist off, locking lid trash can. The bad news is I couldn’t get the lid off myself this morning.

This month we mark the 10 year anniversary of the death by suicide of my H’s brother. If you, or someone you know, struggles with suicidal thoughts please call the suicide lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 for help. People care and will listen.

I do love summer thunderstorms. The dogs - not so much! So hard to know which door to bark at! And I really hope the tree we were going to take down but just decided to trim is okay since the tree guy said today that he discovered it really did have an issue.

Wow—never knew that for cashback CCards if you are paying a bill (eg utility, taxes, etc., it’s considered a payment, NOT a purchase, so you don’t get the cash back on that amount). This is NOT well explained to consumers and I’ve only learned it today!

I believe the rule may be newish tho, because I believe it was not in place when I was depositing funds into H’s retirement account via credit card and getting 2% cashback 7 years ago.

Ah well, good to know and confirm.

Aaaand we got it!!! Congrats, team!

Dear fellow concert goer sitting behind me…while you, and possibly your other attending buddies, might enjoy your crooning off key, your whistling and shouting, your fist bumping the air (while your belly bumps the back of my head)…believe it or not…the rest of us are here to hear the band! Shut the blink UP you obnoxious, self absorbed tone deaf doofus.

My Facebook post from earlier today: I had a humbling conversation with my 26-year-old son this week. Every day, he texts me with his rating for the day on a scale of 1 to 10, plus something he’s thankful for. In the past, he would send scores such as 9.2. For the last few weeks, every day has been a 10.0. When I asked him about it, he replied, “Well, I decided that I can MAKE every day a 10!” If someone with a severe mental illness can do that, it makes me realize I should, too. We don’t have to be ruled by our circumstances.

The extreme heat and humidity has been really getting on my nerves , especially since I have to work outside in it
I made a vow to myself to not be one of those people who complain about the heat , however I have failed in the last few days
I welcomed the thunderstorms that came throught this afternoon because I was selfish…now I know that my friend’s house is on fire and was likely struck by lighting . They live in a wooded and secluded area and are traveling to see their son play college football…I pray that their dream home that they built themselves will be ok

A pedestrian trying to cross a freeway in front of a semi… hmmm…, what could possibly go wrong?!

Scored huge with my Hilton Credit Card and points. Used about 150,000 points to secure 5 nights during football season and march madness. Would have cost $2100 if I had paid retail. Feeling really good about it.

To my dear friend: your husband is in the final stages of brain cancer with no more treatment options. It is really taking a toll on you.

Why have you been so resistant to start hospice care? No one ever said that they called hospice too early.

The cardiologist has been reminding you for over a year that you need an echocardiogram. You have been scheduled for your upcoming prostate surgery for two months.

And now two weeks before the scheduled surgery you are angry because the cardiologist won’t sign off for the operation without examining you? And that they have agreed to fit you in for an office visit but not with the only one out of 15 doctors that you feel is “at least as intelligent as you are”?

You are freaking fortunate that they are fitting you in at all and the surgery isn’t being postponed. This is why I haven’t made myself motel reservations near the out of area hospital yet.

I’ve been sick, and NEEDED a doctor.
I’ve encountered trouble, and NEEDED a police officer.
I’ve lived through times of war, when our nation, NEEDED our military.
I even NEEDED, an auto mechanic, a plumber, a house painter, and a lot of every day people.

But I have NEVER, not even once, NEEDED a pro football player, or Hollywood entertainer, for ANYTHING.

We arrived in Chicago Thursday night only to be awoken at 5:30 AM by a screaming picket line complete with drums and loud speaker that continued all weekend and is still going for all I know. The hotel workers union is on strike. Are you kidding me? I’ve waited all these years to stay at the Drake (getting a bit long in the tooth if you ask me, not at all what it once was) and had to move to a ho-hum chain hotel Friday afternoon that did have partial service. I can sympathize with the workers, but what a disappointment. We used to live in downtown Chicago after we married, but haven’t been back in 35 years and were looking forward to a luxurious stay and a good time visiting old haunts. There were picket lines and madness everywhere! Was not meant to be, I guess. :frowning:

We DID get to spend some wonderful time with my niece in her quiet neighborhood celebrating her graduation. That was the real point of the trip, so not a loss at all.

I really want to have ice cream machine.

It’s not enough that you got my husband fired six years ago, forced us into bankruptcy, made him lose his professional standing? Now you have to contact his potential new church and make up lies to try to block his being hired? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU???

At least this time the overseers are supporting him instead of attacking.
