“Say Yes to the Dress” fans

^^^ I loved that episode. The mother also got bent out of shape when Randy said that one of the dresses made the bride look “sexy.” Mom was horrified and thought that was “inappropriate.”

I thought the mother was lovely!

Ooooo, nice one, Threekids.

I also have 2 sons so I live vicariously through the people on the show. Big question…what was with the “ankle bracelet” that Giustina Rossi was wearing when she tried on her dress. That family was right out of central casting!

Can anybody figure out what is going on with Audrey’s hair? It looks totally different (color, style, length) in every episode, and I’ve seen them ALL!

^^^ wig? (10char)

My friend went with her cousin’s daughter to Kleinfeld’s. She said that the mirrors seem to make the girls look slimmer than they actually are. Combine that with the fact that they stand on these little round platforms. When the dress falls below the platform they instantly look taller and slimmer as well.

I enjoy watching the show if I’m home that evening. I, too, have seen Audrey wear so many hair styles…hope she is not wearing wigs to cover up hair loss from Chemotherapy…that is what has crossed my mind.

I enjoy the Kleinfeld’s version, but really dispise the Atlanta version…don’t even know if that’s still on anymore…it also amazes me how the consultants can get antsy when the client has only tried on one or two dresses!

Veryhappy: you’re 5 feet tall and 108 pounds? No wonder you are Veryhappy!! :D

It always surprises me how popular this show is. At our high school Seniors do internships from early April until June and this year one of the seniors is doing her internship at Kleinfelds and all the girls are very jealous!

And, yes, ReadytoRoll, Kleinfelds used to be a discount bridal shop but that was many moons ago!

Audrey’s hair…I think she either just likes to have fun with it or someone close to her works in a beauty salon and they use her as a guinea pig.

I wish the woman with the lip-liner tattoo would use a dark lipstick. That line is so distracting and if she’d use lipstick for her segments it would help. She has good things to say and is obviously very experienced in bridal but please get rid of the mustache-effect.

I miss Kesha! She hasn’t been around this season, except for a segment on Big Bliss.

chocchipcookie: I was 108 in January 2010. I’m less now. (Still 5’ tall, however.) I’m not complaining. I do work hard at my exercise routine, however, and I’m very careful what I eat.

Largeness has never been an issue for me or most of my family. Finding clothes that fit – now, that’s a challenge.

^^^ If you find something nice and available in our sizes, let me know. I am 5’2" and under 100 lbs too.

^^^Cry me a river, to quote Reggie Bush!

I am loving the Big Bliss version of Say Yes. It’s nice to know even us chubby girls can wear a nice dress.

I haven’t read through all these posts, but I caught a marathon one night while working on the taxes. Been hooked ever since. Husband rolls his eyes. I say, Hey, the taxes finally got done, right?

The episodes that stand out to me were the middle aged woman who was marrying a former high school classmate, a short unattractive man who undoubtedly had lots of money. She wore a pink short dress with a corset. Not that that dress would look good on any self respecting woman, but a middle aged former showgirl, to put it nicely, turned my stomach.

As a baseball fan, I loved/hated the Yankee wife episode. I thought she was a sweet little girl, and the player she was marrying was a good old boy from Louisiana. The other Yankee wives pressured her into buying a “bling” dress which I thought lessened her “innocent” look and made her look a bit trampy. I thought the simple white dress suited her better. I was upset that she gave in to the peer pressure to wear a tacky blingy dress by her entourage, most of whom looked like they had done some pole time.

Another guilty pleasure along the same line I catch when I can is Four Weddings. I love the simple, African American weddings, with good old home cooking and family entertainment. Some of these women pay way too much money for a wedding. And then they cry when they don’t get the free honeymoon. Dude, have a smaller wedding and you can afford your own honeymoon!

The “Yankees” episode really annoyed me. That girl was just incapable of making any kind of decision and the pitchers’ wives were not very nice, and IMHO very condescending. There is clearly a hierarchy of power in the wifely side of the bullpen. The saddest part happened a couple of weeks ago. She came back for her final fitting, all alone. Her fiance had gotten traded at the end of the season to another team. Guess her “friends” were fair-weather! The best part was the video of the wedding-- a Las Vegas shindig–her bouquet was a cluster of gaudy rhinestone pins instead of flowers. Well, she did say her theme was Bling.

^^^I saw that! I mean, why bring these pitcher wives instead of your family to your fitting? Sad that she did all this to impress the billionaire Yankee attendees, who probably didn’t bother to show up at the wedding!

I didn’t understand why her theme was Bling. Of course, I don’t know the girl personally, but I wonder if she picked that theme to fit in with the Yankee crowd.

My son is now home from college for the summer, and as Friday night is video game night, there’s no chance of me seeing any episodes for a while.

Do you happen to know if you can watch them on the computer?

Montegut, on our Comcast cable, it is one of the shows that is available “On Demand” under TV Series. That’s where I’ve watched it recently. I LOVE this show and DH actually watches it occasionally, too.

^^^ my DH would not be caught dead watching this program! He clears out of the way! :D

VeryHappy & cbreeze: I cannot imagine being that small! Wow  I just got weighed at the doctor’s office today, 143 pounds, 5’4"…for me that’s as small as I’ll get! Yes, finding clothes must be difficult…I remember many years ago that Casual Corner (no longer exists) had a petite store that catered only to very petite women…do you guys remember? Do you have petite stores near you? I have a pretty small waist, so there is not one pair of pants that I can buy without having the waist made smaller. The tailor is used to it now!

I did see the episode re: The Yankees…you mean to tell me that after all that he no longer plays for the Yankees? My goodness! Was the wedding held with the Yankees or with the new team? Yeah, these shows are fun to watch sometimes!

^^^Really, I thought they should have at least kept the guy for the season if they had to plan their wedding around the Yankees. I hope he was well compensated.

Did any of you see the Big Bliss where the designer kept giving the bride his gowns? And she was a polite Southern girl who didn’t want to say no to him. I felt so bad for her. And I loved the one where the expensive designer gave the bride her dress for a cheaper price to prevent her from wearing a similar design.

Casual Corner-- wow, do I miss them for my work wardrobe. Suits and skirts that fit without alteration.

Is the Atlanta version of the show still on? IMO it was horrendous. Cannot believe salespeople and customers act this way.

The Kleinfeld’s version is more refined, although it does have it’s moments.

This year I will celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary, and I think my wedding dress at the time was @$600 and then a bit more for the veil and slip…I remember paying @$1000 for everything. In the grand scheme of things, a dress is certainly NOT the most important thing when planning a wedding and it certainly does NOT have to be one of the most expensive items!

It amazes me watching this show that women will sacfrifice SO much for a dress! :(
