Which school is better SBS or Kent? In which one would you go to and why?

point of interest

what’s sbs?
in korea that’s a TV channel

SBS is Stoneleigh-Burnham School

I say you should go ahead and tour both campuses, and get a feel for what kind of schools they are… then, make your decision. Or, apply to both! Then, when you get in, you get to decide which one is right for you ;].

Well, it depends on what you want in a school.

They have some big differences - Stoneleigh is all girls, Kent is coed. Kent is bigger - it has 400ish more students than Stoneleigh does. Stoneleigh doesn’t have Saturday classes, Kent does…Kent has a formal dress code, Stoneleigh doesn’t. Kent has a religious affiliation, Stoneleigh doesn’t. Do you have an preference on any of those things? What programs in particular are interested in?

You can search some of my old posts (or do a search on this forum for Stoneleigh Burnham, that would be easier than digging through all my posts) and will find some info about Stoneleigh and how much I loved it - I’m also happy to talk a lot more in depth about it and what it was like there for me if you PM me.

Thank you Arky

I applied to Stoneleigh as a rising 7th grader, and I really liked it, but I did not attend even though I got in. It is a pretty small school with an excellent riding program, and I felt that the community was really close-knit and warm. It all depends on you however, and the biggest differences are size and being single-sex and coed. For both, it depends on your preference, but I know that some people thrive at single-sex schools because they are more comfortable being bold and not caring what people of the other gender think. Others would hate it-- when I told my friends about SBS a couple years ago, they thought I was crazy, wanting to lock myself in a boy-less world for six years. lol.

Also, according to the Ultimate Preppy Handbook, being at a single-sex school makes it easier to focus on studying and and work because you won’t have to worry about your appearance or get distracted… lol

My best piece of advice is to visit the schools and find out as much as you can about them. Hope this helped!! :)

thank you lollipopluvr

if you look ta the general data, Kent is by far beter than SBS.
But as some paeople say, it is really up to you depending on what you weigh most.

Think that whichever your school go to is the best. Thta is a good way to be happy.
