From what I’ve heard, it’s an application fee scam. That is, it’s a fake college website intended to trick people into sending in applications. The people who made the website ignore the applications themselves, and profit off of the application fees.</p>

<p>Some parts of that site are really amusingly shoddy – check out what you get when you click “Facts about Redwood,” for instance.

<p>They’ve lifted whole pages from the Reed website. Just changed one name.

<p>Definitely a Reed rip-off: the “faculty” are identical to Reed’s. However, if it is an application fee scam, I can find nowhere on the site to actually apply and pay anything. So, I wonder what the point of the whole thing is?</p>

<p>You are right- I didn’t see any place to send an app either, unless someone was going to fax it to the Torrance, CA., address.</p>

<p>Reed is aware of it & has been trying to get it shut down.</p>

Appears to link to a multi-fraudulent front company called Eastbiz Corp/shipito.com, which also runs scams selling software, electronics, and bicycles out of nondescript warehouse space in Torrance. </p>

<p>They seem to mostly scam overseas buyers who think they’re purchasing from legit American sources with money-saving shortcuts on shipping. Or getting a fancy American business internship. Or going to a reputable American college.
