<p>I am thinking about taking a course that analyzes Scandinavian literature. At my school (UCLA) it fulfills my writing 2 requirement and I was wondering if this will count as a quarter of english for medical school.</p>
<p>It fulfills my GE of Literature and Cultural Analysis. The course is called Scand. 50W. I think the W would make it count as an English, but not sure. Anyone know?</p>

<p>The Berkeley similar English composition requirements also offer many creative classes for the final English requirement; DD did a creative final english course and no one reported any issues. The English component comes with the heavy writing component you will complete- Scandinavian Literature is merely the subject about which you will be writing, so you should be fine.</p>

<p>I took that same class at UCLA and it does count. It shows up on the UCLA medical school site about the one-year English requirement. Try looking for it on google, there’s a list of approved English courses. My reasoning is if it’s approved at UCLA, it should be OK for the other schools.</p>
<p>I couldn’t get any luck looking for it on google, but I asked some people and they also think that it would count as an English course.</p>
