Actually, I just checked em out (cuz you guys were talking about them) and they’re pretty optimistic… I mean, only like 10% get in EA right? There (it seems like) a lot of acceptances…

look at the deferred people though

choboking-- i feel exactly the same way. i’m one of those “lopsided” (sp?) applicants; i have very focused interests and not many ECs. i can’t stop thinking about how lame i must look in comparision to all these types of people :(. anyway i hope we ALL get in.

goeagles123-- i’m from philly, and because of your sn thingy i was wondering if you were too

MIT already found out??? awww…

a USAMO qualifier was deferred from MIT. :shudders:

what’s USAMO?? and my friend just got deferred from MIT also

math olympiad… am I right?

i really want to know how you guys are focusing on everything still when there is a week left. what is your secret?

yeah, USAMO is the 3rd stage of the math olympiad. it goes AMC->AIME->USAMO. i read about it for the first time on CC. only 200 students qualify from all across america for it.

jsullivan-o, im from MD, but i love the eagles cuz of McNabb and Westrbrook!!! maybe a wild card this year!

Not only do I have a 101 degree fever, but I haven’t been able to concentrate since school started in august. this is so incredibly frustrating and I have no clue what to do!!! :(

fuzzylogic: i know an RSI kid who got deferred

^then what gets you into MIT? i saw that a lot of intel-siemens semi-finalists and finalists were accepted even though they had comparatively low socres. i feel really sucky about my chances at stanford now. :(

actually intel results dont come out for another month.
its harsh

well, if you look at the EA Decision thread for last year, you’ll see that very few kid have the Intel STS Semi or USAMO qualifier. I think they like excellence, but the moment they think you’re a testing machine…you’re done! Basically, you dont have to have these amazing awards to get in. But if you have a personality and the awards…we all envy you!

ooooooh. well i thought it was cool that i qualified for the AIME…and then i think i got 3 questions right lol

Since when does MIT reject RSI?!

That’s some scary stuff.

Alright, so on December 15th, where do I anxiously await my decision? Do I sign in Hotmail and wait for an email? Or do I go to the application website? That would be a crap feeling, staying up until 12 and while everyone gets their decisions, i’m still looking for the site :-{

Stanford will send you an email on the 13th that will give you directions for how to check your decision, so don’t worry.

wait on the 13th? i thought we were getting an email on the 15th telling us how to get it.
