SCEA - Class of 2011

… so guys… i know this is totally skipping ahead, but do you have anything in mind for after Stanford?

Hmmmm… whoever says this thread is over? lol… Sure our decisions are out, but we are still 2011 SCEA Alumnis lol. So this thread can go on forever even when the 2012 SCEAers are applying! Funny thing is I already got over Stanford lol. I no longer feel lost. I got new goals :). How about you takeme2cali, or the 66 yr old woman with botox? lol.

Oh guys, by the way, do you know of any current stanford undergraduates? Need to spam them with questions. :D

I am a junior, edwinksl. PM me if you want, or make a thread if you want to spread the knowledge =p

Ohhhhh, I didn’t know that.

Alright, I will pm you if I need to spam you with questions.

lol yeah choboking- im sort of over stanford too, not that i don’t still love it or think its an amazing school, but no longer sad about not going there. and yeah class of '12 will come around and be equally or even more neurotic than we were, and this fun little almost-100 page thread will be here…and they’ll just be thinking who the heck are those wierd people who aren’t even going to stanford but still hang around this forum?? but we’ve had good times here lol…not leaving this soon…

the wounds are still fresh, guys, but I’m getting over it slowly. and even though I have the most ridiculous doubts about my writing abilities now (maybe SCEA wasn’t such a good idea for me after all… should have finished all my apps at once) I’m looking forward to the spring and the acceptances I hope I’ll get.

sad thing is, I won’t be able to bring my car to college with me anymore. ): wherever I go, it’ll be faaar.

I still don’t know whether I should apply anywhere else… laziness is setting in…

yeah, being rejected hurt a lot, but i still have a hard time imagining what it would have been like to actually get in and attend school there. i guess it was just too much of a dream school. and its weird that im still coming back to the stanford forum.
i got my rejection letter today. lol, i feel honored that stanford acknowledged my presence on paper.

:( the acceptance rates were so low for scea. :(

this thread has slowed down so much! :(

I’m facing some real tough times w/ the kids at my school right now. So many people are being real idiots about my getting in! So frustrating!

=(

Idiots like how?

theantithesisof, choboking and sunny903-- i’m totally with you guys, stanford’s been my #1 since a little less than a year ago. i didn’t get rejected, but even if i do get in in the spring i’m not too sure i’d go. 16% acceptance for early action is ridiculous…anyone know how many got deferred?? and i got my letter today too, it was kind of depressing actually. my friend made a facebook group called 21 things to do with a college deferral/rejection letter, which you guys could totally join if you have facebook. i just keep telling myself that it wasnt’ meant to be

so where else are people interested now (those of us who weren’t in that 16%)??

ivy league

hmm im planning to start my own college for non CC Acceptees lol. but in all seriousness, i am looking toward UMich since it’s really close to my aunt, and they got an awesome program up there. heh we should all get in here (this thread) during May and share our future plans. then for sure, this thread will beat princeton’s =].

choboking… Penn is pretty much at the top of my list right now… actually when I told someone I am going to visit tomorrow… they asked me “wow, why are you going to Penn State?” and I was just kind of like… no… University of Pennsylvania, the IVY.
Yeah, Stanford’s been pretty much my dream since the age of 8, when I moved to California. Oh well… I’m thinking of grad school there maybe, depending on what my undergrad major ends up being. Any of you rejectees considering that option?
Antithesis- yeah, upon my rejection I totally questioned my essays… actually, I’m still questioning them, but there’s only so little time between now and RD deadlines.
My current list of schools pretty much comes down to:
Penn
Cornell
USC
Northwestern
WashU
BU
Umass Amherst

… any of you other SCEA rejectees have those on your lists? Perhaps maybe we’ll end up at the same school?

Brown
Columbia
NYU
JHU
UCLA
UCSD
UCI
UCR (haha! guaranteed admission = suuuuper safety)

I’m excited for the spring, guys.

I think I’m over it.

And I think it was fate that I didn’t get in, because I need to get AWAAAAY from home. (:

antithesis, and takeme2cali, i agree about the essay thing. i THOUGHT that they were good, but i guess i was wrong. there is going to a lot of revision going on in the next couple days (and then studying for SAT 2’s). anyways, the only school that i have been accepted into so far is umich. my parents are totally set on me going there, and have hinted many times that even if i get into other places, they might just force me to go there. its only like 1.5 hours away, and with in-state tuition/other scholarships, its going to be crazy cheap. so i really dont have a good reason to pay an extra $20000 to go to another school, but i think ill just wait til spring comes and other options arrive (hopefully).

Bump. I don’t think we should let this thread die yet.

I have a grand total of 14 colleges in total  par for the course for internationals…

Cornell
Duke
Rice
Penn (Fisher)
Harvard
Yale
JHU
CMU
Michigan
Princeton
MIT
Northwestern

Here’s hoping we all get better news in the RD round…
