Those of you applying to U Penn, what are you doing for the first essay. I’m not sure how to take, either directly just answer, or find a way to tie in how i became interested in certain things.

Hey k_twin, i’m sure you will get into those colleges. :D

I agree with edwin

is there anyway i can trade a Harvard acceptance(if i get in) for a stanford acceptance?

Hahaha, backfire, what a question to ask!

I took that three weeks ago. :) Just make sure you know where you are going! Don’t be like me…

I took a Line B bus. Halfway through, a woman came on and sat next to me. She saw me staring at the bus route map and asked me where I was going.

Woman: Where are you trying to get to?
Me: Im going to the hospital.
Woman: Oh, youre on the wrong bus.
Me: [SHOOT.] Really?
Woman: Yeah, you should take Line A. Were stopping at the CalTrain station, you can switch buses there.
Me: Oh, because you see, theres a Line B going through the hospital
Woman: Yeah, I know, but for some reason, I dont think Line B stops there. Trust me, Ive only been here for three weeks, but I know the routes because I was confused just like you in the beginning. Well, heres the stop. Good luck.

I did reach my destination, but man, I was so nervous during the entire route. I’ve only taken a public bus twice in my life, so… be prepared!

Big 100 guys!!!

What a way to start the new year! ;)

one last wave…

I’ve pretty much gotten over the Stanford rejection (cause I still have grad school as an option). It’s been fun!

So wish me luck on the RD round, guys!
Hopefully I’ll get into my top choice school come spring! :)

Best wishes to takeme2cali and all others who are applying elsewhere!

I agree. Getting rejected from your top choice is not the end of the world. I personally didn’t get into my dream school and right now less than a year later I laugh at how sad I was when I got rejected! I love my current university and I’m sure you’ll love where ever you go to too.

Good luck takeme2cali! Rootin for ya!

EDIT: Superwizard, where did you want to go?

^Oh I wanted to go to MIT.
I can’t tell you know how thrilled I am I got rejected now in retrospect!

good luck to all of the Stanford board kids, wherever we might end up. (: RD ftw!

Happy new year!

Thank you all…

and may 2007 bring you plenty of happiness

this is it, I can’t believe we’re heading into the big world this year!!! :)

man i had a dream that i got accepted before april because they said they made a mistake in deferring me.

although, i also dreamt about getting a 42 on the ACT…hahahahahaha =/

karen, i just had to mention that i’ve been hooked to that song “caring is creepy” ever since you mentioned it. i’ve listened to it around 50 times and i’m still not sick of it.

yay =D did you listen to the shins before?

(Random: I remember when I told kareniscreepy that I figured it out her name! I felt so smart afterward! hehe)

From an '09: Stanford >>> MIT (and I turn MIT down). I can take a class on pharmacogenomics and one on Shakespeare, knowing that both are taught by leaders on their respective field. I don’t think MIT can boast that. The Professor who teaches Shakespeare edits the Pelican series of Shakespeare.

1500!! yess… I nab it. …
