<p>my hook: i don’t really have one. i’m passionate about writing, hopefully that shows through in my app (which i just barely submitted, ay ay ay)</p>

<p>why i want to go to Yale: i loved it when i visited. it was the only college where every other person was wearing a sweatshirt with the school’s logo, where people would shout out what they love about Yale as the tour walked by. the campus was not my favorite, although it was nice, but i imagine the incredible people more than make up for the location.</p>

<p>where i’d like to study abroad: EVERYWHERE. i’ll list a few cities: jerusalem, prague, budapest, rome, venice, madrid, barcelona, paris, london, amsterdam, copenhagen, istanbul, moscow, buenos aires, mexico city, lima, tokyo, cairo, casablanca, accra, johannesburg, sydney, calcutta, dharamsala, lhasa, kathmandu, timbuktu, ah i could go on forever…</p>

<p>expected response to above: well, my parents have already agreed to let me spend next semester in rome (provided i pay for half, so i’ve been saving!), so i can’t imagine they’d put up too much of a protest.</p>

<p>fears about yale: i want to live in a city. new haven doesn’t count. but new york is nearby, so it’s close enough.</p>

<p>Boston’s relatively nearby too! It’s the greatest city on earth, IMHO.</p>

<p>oh really? i know new york’s like an hour’s train ride away; how close is boston? i didn’t realize, that’s awesome.</p>

Why you want to go to Yale: I just felt so at home there. The people are so real and everything there is the best of the best. Also, best a cappella anywhere, lol.

Your catch: Frankly, I haven’t the faintest idea…I’m an IB’er (mmm…AP is better though…less anal…lol) with an affinity towards music, science, and history
Why you want to go to Yale: BRILLIANT humans ( like all the people on this forum), beautiful campus, undergrad research, new bioengineering dep, best IVY league tennis team …etc etc.
Where you’d LOVE to study abroad: India, Switzerland, Antartica, anywhere in Africa (Africa is my dream !)

Fears about Yale: god…getting rejected!..If that Doesn’t happen then I can worry about other things…rejection levels have been high for me though…I’m not expecting too much…:frowning: </p>

<p>im from a suburban town in connecticut and i know about 5 seniors (all white) applying…including the val and sal</p>

<p>I’m nearly done with my EE!!! I’m at 3800 words so once I have my intro, conclusion, abstract, and table of contents (and edit everything) I’m done, baby. Our final draft is due to our IB coordinator on Monday… lol… it’s ridiculous, some kids in my school handed in a rough draft (completed) in AUGUST. Psycho. I wrote mine in two nights last week… 2000 words each night haha. Hang in there kids… here comes the TOK essay. I’m doing question 5, what are the rest of you doing?</p>
