Schedule Complications!!

I usually have a rigorous course load that consist of 4 Aice/AP classes and a lot of leadership and Extracurricular activities. This year(senior year) I have a really big problem and I don’t know how it will affect me when it comes to colleges. Due to most advance classes being at the same time I am only able to take 2 Aice classes and maybe a spring semester class in microeconomics and I don’t have a 7th period because I’ve taken all the classes offered then. Would it look bad since my schedule is easier this year and I probably will have a free period because there aren’t any guidance/library/office aide positions available? Would it affect my chances of getting into a good school like William and Mary or UVA?

If the schedule conflict arises due to circumstances totally outside of your control, then no, it would not affect your chances. Just make sure the GC mentions this point on the Secondary School Report.

However, if the conflict arises because you tried to manipulate the schedule to, as an example, jam in 3 science classes, then that is a personal choice and would likely affect your chances.

Most of the Aice classes i wanted to take occur during periods 1,3,5 so I had to take out Aice environmental and AP stats.
My schedule right now is
Aice psychology
Accounting(need a business class for FBLA)
Aice English literature
Government
Leadership(mandatory since I’m SCA VP)
Advance Varsity Choir (need a music class to stay in Tri-M honor society especially since in secretary)

That happened to my D’s school a couple years ago too. The stupid principal (who is gone for good now) put half of the AP classes in the 7th period at the time the school district proposed to require a charge for the 7th period. At the end, the school district dropped the charge due to potential law suit from parents. However, many juniors and seniors got their schedule screwed up. My D could not take more than 3 AP classes in senior because of that.
