how much does your course selection affect your decision? considering my chances are pretty low, i’m not sure if i should stay in all the classes i am in now, or drop some for second semester. here’s my current schedule:

AP Economics
AP Physics C
AP Calculus AB
AP Calculus BC
AP Psychology
AP English Language&Composition
Business Aide (1st semster, don’t get a grade only a credit)

i am signed up for, and listed that all of my AP classes are for both semesters. I am considering either
dropping Economics, and taking java or c++ programming for pros at the community college nearby (through a program at my school) and keep everything else
or 2. going into generals english (next lowest level) instead of my AP Eng class and sign up for a class at the community college

would this look bad? i don’t want to hurt my chances, but i don’t want to waste my time with classes i don’t like anyways. I usually get a B in english and an A in econ. i applied for engineering btw.

Are you taking separate classes for Calc AB and Calc BC…? Just curious.

If you’re going to major in engineering, it’s most important that you stick it out with your AP math and science classes. I don’t see how dropping AP Econ or English would create a big problem for you when you apply to college, although obvioulsy, an all-AP schedule looks impressive.

But if your schedule is too stressful or not at all enjoyable, it might be a good idea to make one of the changes you mentioned; you’ll be able to focus more attention on the subjects that are going to matter most to your future college major.

i get a grade for AB and a grade for BC, but it is the same class-we meet every day instead of every other day. Although i don’t think colleges will see it as one class since i get grades and credits for each.

The problem is that if i drop econ, my gpa will most likely go down some, but i’ll be taking all AP’s still and a college class. Either way my gpa should be around 4.5 w, so i think i’m worrying about this too much.
