Scheduling auditions

Hi everyone!

So im moving forward with my international applications did the TOEFL this past Saturday and all and now I'm getting to the application/audition scheduling phase & wanted to ask students & parents who have gone through how they scheduled. For the record I'm audition for BoCo, Ithica, Cap21,AADA, Tisch & Pace U in America. I was planning on attending unifieds for BoCo & Ithica but am not sure how I should space the other ones considering they'll all require a 9 hour bus ride to New York. So should I just generally schedule them every weekend for 2 months or once every 2 weeks? Any help is appreciated!

Thank You

Well, it is going to depend on a lot of factors, actually. I assume you've already checked each school's website to see when they have their auditions. I can tell you that you are able to REQUEST audition times that are convenient to you but you cannot assume that those times/dates will be available.

It is quite a jigsaw puzzle trying to fit them all in. I would schedule those schools with the fewest dates first, then move to those with more dates. Be aware that the later in the spring you are trying to schedule, the more quickly the dates book up. I have found at least one school so far where our first choice date was not available at all because it was later in the spring.

Some schools have auditions on Fridays. If so, it would be great to book one school on a Friday, then a second or even a 3rd on Saturday and/or Sunday. That would minimize trips. But there may be no way around taking that long bus ride several times.

I have also found a few schools who were willing to schedule alternative dates if none of the published dates work for you. Perhaps if you called and explained your situation, you might find some willing to do a special audition for you near a date you have others scheduled, thus also minimizing trips.

Best of luck to you!

Keep weather in mind too! If there's a snowstorm the day of your audition and you can't get there, you'll have to reschedule, but if it's the last audition day, then you can't.

Not trying to be a jerk. Just a friendly nudge. Because you will likely need to write it down during the audition. Ithaca. Not "Ithica"
