Scheduling Problem! Need Help!!!

Ok, so basically I have:

0) AP Music Theory

-

stuff in between

-
7) Marching Band

The problem is with the stuff in between…
I have:

1) Wind Ensemble
2) Calc BC
3)
4) Marine Ecology
5)
6)none

The problem is AP USGov and AP Lit.
Gov is offered 0-5, so it can go in the 3 or 5…
Lit is offered 0,1,2,4, so I REALLY DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT!

So far, I’ve thought to:
-go down to normal English or whatever that is =/
-switch marine ecology to a science class 3rd period, so that Lit could be 4th, BUT this also sucks because Marine Ecology gets to goto Baha California on a 10 day trip that everyone says is “life-changing”

But I’ve already started summer work for Lit and Gov, so this entirely sucks! Please help me!

well when are the other classes offered? I would just replace AP lit with AP music theory…

Music Theory 0
Lit 0124
Wind Ensemble 1
Marine Ecology 24
Calc BC 24
Gov 012345
Marching Band 7

that really sucks…marine ecology sounds fun…you have the same conflict as i did in a way. I could have chosen either Orchestra (there is always an orchestra trip) or another AP course. I chose the AP course since i think i will benefit more from it… a year’s worth of learning…haha…i’m sure you would learn a lot in marine ecology (it sounds really interesting) but AP lit would look more impressive…lol. but really you should go with your interests…

sorry for the pointless post ^^

thanks a ton guys…

any more ideas?

actually i’d replace wind ensemble with AP lit…unless you don’t have enough band credits or something.
AP > Band

How about taking Music Theory at a local community college? Then you could take Lit for 0 period. Then you also would be sure to have college credit without having to stress about another AP test.
So it could be
0 - Lit
1 - Wind
2 - Marine
3 - Gov
4 - Calc
5 - open or elective
6 - open
7 - Marching Band
Having 5th and 6th period open would give you room to study in the fall before band practice and give you time to schedule and get to Comm College for Music Theory in the spring.

I would drop Marine Bio and take another AP science course instead and fit AP Lit in that way. Obviously music is a passion of yours, and I don’t think you should have your transcript/schedule reflect any less. Although that Marine Bio class is life-changing, I think it may still come across as a cop-out science class you took for one field trip. Also, taking classes at a CC on top of HS stuff can really suck for social/HW/study/EC time. That’s my 2 cents.

thanks so much guys

Have you thought about self-studying AP Music Theory or AP Calc BC, and putting AP Lit in one of those two spots? If you do, it might actually work out because you have a teacher that you can go to your problems with instead of just figuring it out on your own. You could always self-study AP Lit as well, but personally, I wouldn’t. Maybe you could work it out to get it listed as a class, but as “Independent Study AP [whatever]” on your transcript if you need it to be on there for college application purposes. You could work it out with the teacher, and maybe go to their classroom during a study hall, and do all the class work, or something.

If you need the discipline though, to actually do the work, or if you’re looking for the class experience, I don’t recommend self-study. Otherwise, why not?

You could always drop down to a different band, as well, if that’s possible. It’d be less challenging, but it might be a sacrifice you have to make. And if you’re not a senior (although I think you are) there’s always the possibility of taking one of the classes next year, right?
