I know many students do these threads, and it probably gets annoying reading posts by angst-y teenagers all the time, but humor me?

As of now, I’m looking at these classes for my first semester:

Great Books 191
ANTHRCUL 101 - Honors
AAPTIS 210
AAPTIS 504

My concern is that it might be a bit tough juggling AAPTIS 504 with GTBOOKS, but I’m not sure if AAPTIS 504 will be offered Winter 2014.

If I opt out of AAPTIS 504, I would most likely take ASTRO 105.

Any thoughts?

As long as you’re very competent in Arabic, you should be fine. Great Books is not a lot of work at all, neither is Anthrcul 101. Both just require a moderate amount of reading. Aaptis 210 is an intro class, and while these aren’t usually easy classes, they’re not terrible in the workload department either. Just average. Even if Aaptis 504 is your heaviest workload class, you should be fine. 16 credits is a good amount to take in your first semester.

You are probably correct about it not being offered in the Winter, as it has not been offered for any of the most recent three Winter semesters. However, remember that you have 8 semesters to get your classes done, and taking it Fall 2014 wouldn’t be a bad option, as the time in which you take classes doesn’t typically matter. You have more time to take classes than you might realize. Also, while it depends on the class/department and the student, one might advise against taking an upper-level course in your first semester of school.
