UCLA runs on quarters, with most students taking three five-quarter courses, right? Is there a maxumim amount of credits allowed per quarter? Could you take four courses one quarter if you wanted?

Yes, UCLA does run on the quarter system. I’m presuming that you mean three five-unit courses, not three “five-unit quarters” as you typed – actually, most students take four courses. The maximum amount of units allowed per quarter is 21, which you have to petition Murphy Hall about if you want to exceed it. It is recommended that you take four courses every quarter (whenever it is feasible) so that you can safely graduate within four years.

Ahh, all right. I was looking at their website and they said three five-quarter courses were the minimum; I read that wrong and thought it said max. Thank you very much for your info.
