Scholars Program

My daughter applied to the Emory Scholars Program, only for the actual Emory campus. She received an email a couple of days ago urging her to also apply to the Oxford campus. Should we be concerned that she is not getting accepted into the Scholars Program or do you suppose this is just a generic response to her application, suggesting that she apply to both campuses (perhaps thinking it was an oversight on her part)? Any information would be appreciated.

Emory was founded in Oxford, Georgia. Emory officially has three campuses (Druid Hills, Oxford, Clairmont) and its Briarcliff property.

Admissions decisions are made independently. I wouldn’t interpret this message as about your daughter’s competitiveness. I believe the deadline’s past for the Oxford scholar’s program, but it’s a good choice for students for whom substantial merit aid is a significant consideration.

I think that everyone who does not apply to oxford was sent an e-mail for the Oxford Application. I remember my D1 was very upset when she received the e-mail suggesting that she applies to oxford. It likely is not an indicator of an acceptance or rejection because she was accepted the following month.

I think they are just trying to increase application #'s at Oxford. No need to be worried. She should definitely apply to oxford if she thinks she will like it their/be successful there, other then that no need to sweat it!
