I have two questions regarding filling out scholarship applications:
- If an application asks for grades on a 4.0 scale and a student receives grades on a 0-100 scale, how should GPA (of 95.6) be calculated?
- If the application asks for a specific class rank, and a school only releases deciles, how should the rank (top decile) be reported?
Recalculate the GPA with letter grades. You cannot do a simple conversion from the average percentile score.
@billscho, there’s no clear cut-off between an A and a B. We could guess that the cutoff is 90, but its rather arbitrary.
Tow options: cutoff at a 90 or cutoff at a 93. A 90 is to your benefit.
You should ask your GC. At the end, they will match that with your transcript. Your school may have their conversion chart.
