Scholarship average value

Are these amounts correct? In Birmingham Southern College the average scholarship for Basebal is around 18k year in this list, isn´t this amount too high?

Those are the average athletic awards, not the average baseball awards. If the school has football, basketball, or the 4 women’s sports that require full scholarships, that is going to bring an average way way up (see Alabama) Also, you don’t know how many are getting athletic awards as opposed to need awards or merit awards. The list has how many receive scholarships, and at Birmingham Southern, it is 99%. Tuition was also listed as $30k plus R&B, so $18k is only a half scholarship. Not too high at all.

But thanks for the list! I didn’t know if my daughter got a good award from her school or not, and now I know it is exactly average (although this list is a little old as tuition and r&b as reported was lower than it actually is by several thousand).

Squexy,

I think you are confusing avg amount of Financial Aid with an athletic scholarship. Birmingham Southern College is a D3 school and by charter can’t offer an athletic scholarship. However, they can offer both public and private institutional aid. The link to your chart indicated avg FA. There is another column to the right with avg Athletic Aid, and you’ll notice it is blank for BSC.
