Scholarship Cover Letter

Hi all.

I am a relatively new member to College Confidential but have found the site highly useful for a number of years as a guest user. In brief, I am a UK student who has just received a Master’s offer at the University of Cambridge. I am about to embark on sending speculative funding/scholarship cover letters to organisations.

I wished to ask politely, if anyone would mind having a brief look over my 1 page cover letter as it would be helpful to grab the first impressions of someone external.

Is this normal practice in the U.K.? To send out begging letters? Can you get loans?

I would not call them begging letters if they are sent to open and available scholarship organisations. On your latter point, you can ascertain a ‘career loan’ which will be of use if I am unsuccessful attaining funding.
