My daughter has applied regular decision. Does this mean that she would not receive scholarship money because it’s all been given to EA applicants, or does she still have a chance of getting an award?

Thanks!

It definitely seems like they give out more aid to EA than to RD applicants.

Most of the large scholarships seem to go to out-of-state (OOS) students, to defray the extra cost of OOS tuition while still getting something extra from them.

My S got a small ($1000) Dean’s Scholarship (in addition to the Adams scholarship), he was in-state RD with killer stats. Had I known EA was so much more lucrative, I would have had him apply EA.

They don’t seem to give out a lot of merit aid, but it is hard to predict.

I’m OOS and I got $3500…helps defray the 32K OOS cost for me. Applied EA.

I believe I got around 8500, I’m pretty sure OOS and EA get the majority of scholarship money. But some is still held over for RD applicants… it’s this was for most colleges, kind of like first come, first serve.

I received the Dean’s Award but it did not state the value on the congratulations letter which I received in the mail today. When I first received my acceptance, it said I received the Dean’s Scholarship for $2000. Assuming this is the same, would the money be per year or $500 per year?

^^^ The amount listed for the Dean’s Scholarship my S got was per year.

Ok, thank you

Readyset,
Did you apply EA or RD?
Thanks,
