SCHOLARSHIP on RESUME???

Should being given a scholarship be a deciding factor in choosing a school for reasons not involving finances? Would noting on your resume that you were given an academic scholarship to attend a school have any significant benefits?

If school A is just as good as school B, but you receive a scholarship from school A that makes both of the schools the exact same price, do you choose school A because you can note on your resume that you were given an academic scholarship to attend?

I've read that one of the biggest determinants of success is the GPA. I've never seen scholarship awards on resumes that I've looked at.

A high GPA indicates that you're smart enough to get good grades and that you're organized enough to get a lot of things done on time.

I think the biggest determinant of success is extracurricular activities especially sports. It shows that you were able to maintain a great gpa while doing other activities.

^^^^
By that you mean that the most important is a 'great gpa' because you need to prove that you have a 'great gpa' before you can prove that you are able to balance activities with a 'great gpa'

Unless it's a prestigious international award like a Rhodes Scholarship, then no. If it's limited to the school, no one else cares.
