If you are a current student or have been accepted for next fall and recieved any merit based scholarships what are your stats and how much were they for?

hi allie! i’m a current senior at lehigh, so things are likely somewhat different now. i give tours and spend a decent amount of time in the admissions office, and so while grades/scores might put you in the running for a merit scholarship, they are not the deciding factor.

i have a dean’s scholarship–$10,000 per year (if you maintain above a 3.0). i had a 32 ACT (from the midwest) and a 3.85 high school gpa. i was very involved in my high school and definitely had demonstrated interest in lehigh before and during my senior year (visited, interview, sessions close to home).

my roommate has a merit scholarship too, but hers is a little different and i’m not sure of the details.

My daughter rec’d her admission package; it indicates that she has been named an Eckardt Scholar and explains that more information will follow in another mailing.

It does not reference a merit scholarship–although the program is listed under Merit Scholarships on Lehigh’s web site.

Also, she did not receive her financial aid award letter (the pocket in the back of the admissions folder where it was supposed to be was empty).

Q1: Does anyone know if all Eckardt Scholars are awarded merit money (and how much)?

Q2: Did anyone receive their Financial Aid letter with their admissions packet?

Thanks

My son has not recieved his packet yet, but the website does not indicate that Eckardt is necessarily tied to merit money. Maybe ther merit scholarships come with the financial aid packet, not sure. Maybe a current student can chime in.

Yes, we received the FA letter (boo hiss!) in the packet yesterday. :(

Was anyone awarded merit $$ ??

^bump. Anyone awarded merit $$ ? * crickets *

ELY, You are one of a very few to have received their packages over the weekend. Most of us are still waiting to see if we have been awarded merit aid.

how about financial aid based on need?

can anyone that received their packages comment on whether you are satisfied?

Son’s packet arrived and he was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship and admitted into the Eckardt Scholars program! We are really pleased!

Ditto for my daughter - Dean’s Scholarship = $10K;
SAT = 2200; ACT - 31; GPA = 3.9 (97.5);
No Financial Aid offered.
Congratulations to All!

I’m abroad right now so I don’t know the exact name of the scholarship, but according to my parents I’ve been accepted with a full tuition scholarship and a grant that will partially cover room and board! Definitely puts Lehigh a lot higher on my list.
SAT I: 1470/2170
SAT IIs: Bio 640 USH 690
Rank: 7/290
GPA: 98.17 (weighted)

It’s a surprise, but I guess the fact that I’m an arts and science bound female helped!

dancer, congratulations on the financial aid!

are you taking the Lehigh offer or going someplace else?

thanks! not sure yet, but after last night’s rejection from brown, it’s pretty much between lehigh and usc which gave me pretty good aid as well!

We got our package, my son is going to be a freshman. We are very happy about it.

I got a Lehigh Scholars award.
Does anyone know if the financial aid, divided into fall and spring semesters, add up to one year of tuition? because they dont make the overall “total” clear.

helenac, yes

take a look at the Lehigh web portal

Eckardt is an honors program that does let students waive out of some distribution requirements, as well as do special Eckardt seminars, discussions, and, I think, field trips. However, being invited to be an Eckardt scholar does not necessarily mean financial aid, and students can also apply to the program at the end of their first year.

Our packet’s FA pocket was empty but we received a letter previously saying they were still missing info. to make a decision. Just got our taxes back and we FedEx’d them the numbers yesterday! Think there’s any $$ left?? ;)

frazz, check the web portal to see if the financial aid is listed…

Thanks JohnAdams! We were at the Candidate’s Day today and the FA Office confirmed everything is in and it will take approx. 10 days to process and make a decision! Think there will be any $$ left?? :(
