Is there a way to get a scholarship other than the ones you get when you are admitted?
Like is there a scholarship for tennis players, or one for being in a certain club or commitee?

I’m an international student with no scholarship and I didn’t apply for aid, but it’s always a relief when you get a scholarship even if it’s only 1,000 per semester.

Scholarhips for sports would only be if you got recruited- so no. Same as for music/band. Clubs and committees don’t offer scholarships.

Most people who get scholarships after the initial package get them from outside sources (parents’ employers, writing an essay for something, etc), applying and getting a research scholarship/grant (available through other departmental programs and regional/national organizations), applying and getting an international co-op grant (from northeastern), or applying and getting a scholarship from the honors program (which aren’t high).

The first one is up to you. The last one (honors) usually has some form of need-based qualification in it. And the second, third and last options typically always have high competition, and therefore you need good grades, record, club activities, and sometimes even good recommendations.

Thanks for all your help neuchimie!
