This is what i think most people got. from what i’ve seen, if greater that 14,000, then its honors programs, which is top 10%

Deans Scholarship-Partial Tuition
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for fall freshman admission to Northeastern who are in the top twenty-five percent of the accepted applicant pool.
Award Amount
$5,000 - $16,000

Hey guys! I got into the honors program and they gave me a 16k deans, but in my financial aid letter, they estimated my TOTAL PACKAGE to be $21500 including federal aid and stuff… probably because I sent my CSS profile. I’m really thankful for my scholarship, but that still leaves me paying $28k a year, so hopefully I get a trustee scholarship!

Every award was 5k higher under the financial package. That’s the 5k we’re all allowed to borrow from the government… no matter where you attend.

Yo- first of all, the guy who said he got 21k was including his ENTIRE financial aid package. That includes loans with the scholarship.

However, IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET 20-somethingK JUST ON SCHOLARSHIP. There is a scholarship that pays for half of your tuition and fees. I don’t know what that number is off hand, especially since it changes every year, but I have a friend who received it.

Also, 14+ does not mean honors. I’m in the honors dorm, and my suitemates got 10k, 12k, and 16k. However we are friends with someone who DIDNT get honors, but got 14k. It has a lot to do with EA and how quickly they process your documents, etc.

And I hate to break it to you guys, but only about 80 students a year get trustee or volunteering scholarships (full tuition, full ride, etc). Oh, and btw, not all of them are honors.

Those who got a Dean’s Scholarship and are still looking for more, read the link above carefully.
The larger scholarships are generally for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, or from Boston public schools, or have other more specific criteria.
There are some scholarships for students in the top 1 percent of the applicant pool and top 2 percent but they also mention diverse student body, disadvantaged background, etc.
I would not count on anything past the Dean’s Scholarships.

"Trustee Scholarships
The Trustee Scholarship is our most prestigious and competitive full tuition, room and board scholarship and awards high achieving freshman applicants who demonstrate extraordinary accomplishments/skills in leadership, innovation, creativity, community service or entrepreneurship in their home or school communities. The most competitive students will have outstanding grades and test scores and are in the top one percent of our admitted freshman applicant pool.

Approximately 100 students will receive either the National Merit Finalist or Trustee Scholarship."

hplss, no one got the full tuition scholarship yet, the decisions for that arent released until april 1st. so you still have a chance to get it

My major is engineering and I got 16K Deans Scholarship and Honors Program. My total financial package was $24500. Does this mean that I have a good shot at the Trustee Scholarship?

I’m not here to complain, but I was fairly dissappointed in my scholarship. I only got a 5K a year Dean’s scholarship. I guess I thought I was qualified for a lot more. But on the other hand, my total financial aid package was more than $35,000 with federal loans and everything. I almost feel like submitting my CSS Profile along with my app may have brought down my scholarship. But anyway, I cannot wait to attend Northeastern!

While you might have a chance shmoo, you’ll find that a lot of kids have that scholarship. I think if you had gotten it,you would have already found out. But I don’t think anything can really be said until the RD applications are finished.
