<p>Are there any scholarships out there largely focused on your extra curriculars and the difference you have made in the community, in addition to (but with a lesser focus on) your grades and SAT score?</p>
<p>Yes. Sometimes you can find them advertisxed in your community. Your guidance counselor may know of some. Catholic highschools are great at going after them. Also, those colleges that do give merit money do as well.</p>
<p>BUT…they tend to be small. Some of the larger ones are featured on Fastweb. But the ones at the colleges tend to be under $5K and my son got one for $100, which is common. So I wouldn’t have my hopes up too high of any great windfall from that area. The sizeable ones do focus on grades and SAT scores.</p>
